Recently I have been playing games 2 vs 2 vs 2 vs 2, monarch hemisphere/continents, standard map, agressive AI and no tech trading (I dont like my AI partner to trade away my tech). I played 2 games, my first partner was Catherine and second was Montezuma. Catherine was a so-so player as she tried to to built all the wonders as soon we finish discovering techs. Monty was even worst; he always has a crappy economy and most the time only I put effort on tech.
So which AI would a good candidate to team with the human player?
PS One thing that bothers me about team AI is that the partner AI hardly invades the other continents anymore. In both games, I have to gift like 10 transports and some destroyers for the partner AI to do anything. Also the AI hardly defends the conquered city in other continents. I once got a city from peace and gift that to Monty. Monty never put a single military unit in that city for the rest of the game even though I saw he has some galleons.
