well this sint, much proof, im still looking for that, but this website shows how much america does care about their oil, they have changed their attitude completely to libya and sudan because it is turning to africa for oil because many of the oil producing countries are riddled with conflict. This shows how much the U.S. cares about their oil that they are willing to become friends with someone they thought they didnt need and they have called rogue states on many occasions, here it is....

:hmm: Did you read your own article? It said they've curbed their behavior or has shown a greater interest in helping them end their conflicts.

Oil is a vital strategic resource. They wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't make an effort to secure more sources.

the job of a president of a country is not to secure vital resources, you must play to much civ....

Without oil, our economy and military shuts down. I would say this concern should be at the top of every president's list.

of cource, but as you said, i doubt geoge bush personally asks countries to trade oil now does he? anyway just wait until it all runs out. hydrogen power is the way forward... look at his equation =

H2+O2=H2O

from burning hydrogen you get water, e.g. no pollution, i say none of this fancy dancy electric power crap, we need hydrogen power and a hydrogen reactors, no nuclear either, renueable

hehehe i know this was a bit off topic, but what the hey! :)

thestones fan, as for your comment ive no idea where that came form, a bit like the top half of my post :)

There's enough oil to keep the world running for over a 100 years...and that is being considered at the current consumption level, being higher than what it will be 100 years from now.

You make it sound as if Exxon-Mobil employees are jumping out of their office windows.

You didn't include the U.S. in the list?

And why would we do that?

No, none of them should be set free. All should be destroyed in a maelstrom of blood and fire; these regimes should be ended with the full fury of God's own thunder. :yeah:

God? You mean Odin? :hmm:

On-topic: Let those Cubans go, for Pete's sake. They really don't have the resources or means to hurt anyone but themselves.

I don't understand this axis of evil stuff. Once there were three countries in the axis of evil. Now one is gone, and suddenly there are six axis of evil countries. That must be a major setback!

I think US should forget this axis of evil mistake and focus on cleaning up the mess in Iraq. They have more than enough work to do there for the rest of this millennium.

Where exactly do we get the hydrogen? Hydrogen does not grow on threes! To make it we need energy and energy we get from the axis of evil: Oil, coal and nuclear power. It's a cruel world:(.

I just can't help noticing every time I see the word "Axis" used in this new and bizarre context --

Back in 1939-1941, when there was a real Axis of evil, my nation (USA) had to be dragged kicking and screaming (12/7/41) into the fight. In 2002 we had three disconnected countries, two of whom fought a horrendously bloody war against each other not long ago, and they constituted an "axis"?

If the entire press corps had burst out laughing at that remark, maybe there would still be some hope for sanity in foreign policy debates.
