Just put it down as a "Petraues face palm moment". Iam thinking Bush cant be that stupid ? Right ? But then I remember the last eight years and I think yeah Bush administration screws up everything it touches.
(In book joke. about Petraues "fixing" up Afganistain" given how incrediably screwed up it was. When General Petraues took over)
I'm reading it as well. Around 1/2 way through. Pretty dry reading, even if the subject is interesting. It's all: X said this, then Y said this, then Z said this, rinse and repeat.
I got lucky and managed to pull William Morris Hughes: A Political Biography: Volume I - That Fiery Particle from a second hand bookseller than usually only peddles books for tourists. In addition to being an awesome book, it only cost me $4 rather than the $40 that the extortionists online wanted to charge me. Yay!

I just finished Wuthering Heights. Good grief, what a horrid book. The ending was sort of sweet, but the other 19/20 of the book was absolutely horrible. Every single character is detestable to the last, and the actions of the characters are essentially unbelievable. I'm thoroughly convinced that Emily Bronte was insane, and so is anyone who likes that flaysome novel.
Needing some sanity in my life, I'll endeavor to digest the immense first volume of Capital.

Well, at least that´ll keep you in the same time period... Flaysome! I must say, Wuthering Heights is definitely the better written of the two - so good luck trying to get through Capital.

Im rereading the book I had to duct tape together (Most of you know what that one is). Its good but why is it suddenly so difficult to read.. I really do think Im getting dumber 
I'm almost finished The Case for Books by Robert Darton (ISBN:1586488260). It's a short collection of essays on books, from the Google Book Settlement to academic publishing to the "bibliography" (the study of book as a physical object, apparently) of Shakespeare.
