which Civ 2 muti player

moof has a pal from the net that wants to play some multi player CIV.

They have a pc & moof has a Mac. Neither of us has multiplayer & we have two questions.

1. Is there any version of CIV 2 that is better than the rest for compatibility & playability for people playing on different computer types like we have.

2. Is there a version that is downloadable that both of us can use to play each other.

To the best of my knowledge, Civilization II - Multiplayer Gold Edition, is compatible with both. I have been playing a multiplayer game with Narz, and he has a Mac, I have a PC. We have run into trouble playing a scenario game though. As for downloading the game, I don't believe that is possible. There is a patch that is downloadable from CFC that makes the classic game multiplayer. Others here know more about this than I do. Check the Technical Support forum as well. Hope this has helped.

we're not interested in a scenario game, just want to play a few ramdom maps.

Could you tell us what version you are using ?

Also are either of you using any patches ?
