Yes, no hostile brabarians will appear from goody huts you collect.
If you are an Expansionist civ.
Oh... Thanks for the info... Since I'm kind of new what does the term UU and GB and GL means? and whats 4 Settler Factory? i read the thread but i dont really understand it
UU - Unique Units
GL - Great Leader OR Great Library
for a compete list of Acronyms:
4 turn settler factory- a city that can has enough shields/growth to pump out settler after settler. Needs a more or less perfect start location or nearby bonus resources to do.
Wow thansk guys.. How long have u guys been playing ? me 2 months
6 months. As to the original question I would take Japan or India depending on what playstyle I would choose for that game.
A little over a year for me. My favorite civ out of the three you said would be Japan, but I like Germany a lot too.
Awesome since we're on the topic... Does paratroop really do anything? and can u even invade those islands that u cant land on? cuz i had an AI who had only 1 city but had it on an island that i cant land and there's no other space to land so i cant kill him..
I believe that the inca are easily the strongest civ in the ancient era and in any era for that matter.
The valueof the agricultural trait is immense, it facilitates for a MUCH stronger growth, more growth = more cities faster = more units to slay your oppponents with.
and then the expansionist trait, a free tech every other turn if your lucky cant pass that oppurtunity up.
also the UU, the extremely nimble chasqui scout has harrassed my opponents to the point where they just sit there ending turns not caring anymore (yeh MP rulez). going across mountains as if they were grassland thats just bliss!
as a friend of mine once sais TUTU POWA!
Favourite civs definetly have to be the Ottomans, Vikings, and Persians. All great UU and traits.
I haven't played with any of those civs yet. I have been playing for 12 days, playing Americans, Germans, and Ottomans. Ottomans are my favorite right now because their UU lead me to my first Warlord win after getting waxed 3 times as the Germans.
I think this is the 173rd thread where I have said my favourite civ of all time of any version including conquests is (fanfare etc.) China.
A three move unit a whole age b4 anyone gets one (nearly), industrious trait and the leaders name saves on typing.
My favs are:
Celts- good traits and early nasty UU.
Vikings- UU is beyond nasty.
Iroquois- good traits again and good UU.
Ottomans-same as above.
Persia-same as above.
China-same as above.
France-good trait combination.
Egypt-great for builders.
I agree that you can prevail with any civ played correctly but
everyone will still have their own favorites. :slay:
Persia-Great UU and trait combo.
Vikings- UU is too good.
Greece- Good traits and a good UU.
There's a great article in the War academy about settler factories. You'll hear it quoted a lot here. Bamspeedy's Babylon's Deity Settlers.
It's got everything you need to know.
i'm always trying someone new but my favs now
Celts: my mobile little pillagers
Rome: it doesnt matter what the hell they're doing but it's working
Persia: Scientific, Industrious, and Immortals oh my!
notice a theme?
It seems like my favorite Civ changes everytime I win a game! It's like I don't actually have a favorite Civ at all...
Actually the Agricultural trait is way overrated, because everyone seems to forget that more cities also=gigacorruption, with half of your cities getting only one shield and 3 commerce with about 8 shields and 6 commerce going to waste...WITH a courthouse and haveing DEMOCRACY as my government. Trust me, I've had this happen when I was playing the Maya once, and it wasn't fun at all.
That's why the only NA civ I'll play is the Iroquois, because their Commercialisitc trait reduces corruption by about 20% on average. In the aforementioned game, the Iroquois were my neighbors, and they decided to declare war right at the beginning of the Industrial age, and since half my cities were too corrupt to build anything decent, and I hadn't researched steam power yet, I basically had to write off half my empire, so I just said F--K it and quit.
As for my favorite civs, those are any civ with either (a) Religious or (b) Scientific traits. With that in mind, only the worst of players could lose as the Babylonians. The reason is that as both a religious AND scientific civ, they can build all the main cultural buildings (temple, cathedral, library, university, research lab) at half cost, they'll never have anarchy for more than three turns, AND they get a free advance every time they reach a new era.
Still, my favorite civs to play are:
Celts (gotta love those Gallic swordsmen...)
Germans (just cause Panzers R0x0r)
Arabs (religious and expansionist=winning combo)
Spain (I've had more fun than should be legally allowed with those Conquistadors....)
Iroqupios (just because some of my ancestors were, plus corruption is halfways manageable with them)
Chinese riders rock! The three moves means you can take out their iron and gunpowder such that whatever tech lead they may have had is completely wasted, and the golden age comes at a great time. "Normal" rate slaves are also cool....
with a 8.3.3 stat it rules the late industrial age.
But to stick to the original question japan.
Germany, those Panzers give me a warm and fuzy feeling inside
Separate names with a comma.
