Any big or small feature(s) you would like to not see in the game?

For me, it's World Congress. I really don't like this level of metagame outside the map. The game becomes immediately less interesting once the first WC message appears.

Here's a couple of minor petty complaints

1 and 2. Policy cards. I find it a bit annoying how I feel pressured to shuffle them around about 100 times per game in order to absolutely minmax everything. I liked civ 5's policy tree style better for this reason. Similarly, moving governors around, although this is less of a problem (except for Liang if you need to make her unique improvements, or Reyna/Moksha if you need to move them around to purchase districts). I think maybe you should be able to do it at the beginning of each era, or when adopting a new government, instead of every time you have a new civic.

3. Extra small complaint, but the -5 diplo favor per turn for conquering a capital. This malus should slowly decrease. People should not still be mad at me in the current era for capturing a capital before writing was invented. It also applies even if you got it via free cities or trading for it, which is silly.

4. This may be unpopular but I don't think you should be able to see your era score. People should not be gaming the system to try to land in a certain age type. I also think heroic ages should either be removed to rebalanced (or dark ages should be more penalized, maybe remove the dark age cards) there shouldn't be an incentive to go into a dark age. Dramatic ages aims to do this, but IMO I think it goes too far. Half my empire saying "screw you guys, I'm going home" is too much.

I would rather see it improved, but if given the choice to either have it as is or no, I would remove World Congress.

Maybe Rock Bands.

All cities become some sort of canal when on coast .... Its sooooooo anoying for me that's number 1 ... And there is no mod to change it back to normal (pre Gathering Storm)

Do you mean the gameplay effect or just the visual? I agree the visual is ugly but I think the gameplay should stay the same.

I mean visual, gameplay is as it should be ... but that visual of coastal-canal-ugly-monster city makes me very often to settle one tile from coast just because of it (even thought I would normally - pre GS - settle on coast)

Religious combat. My games without founding a religion already have enough micro managing units in the late game as it is.

There are a few game mechanics I was deciding on for my post, but then I read this. Something I wouldn't have thought of, but every single time I settle a city on a coast I question, "Why is this ancient city just a huge canal?"

Maybe not remove, but make the Jersey system optional.
I don't personally have a hard time distinguishing between the different colors and sometimes seeing colors that shouldn't appear together for a particular civ to me is jarring.
It's definitely more jarring than the canal visuals in the Ancient Era for me.

Espionage. There are plenty enough threats in the game that I can visually see. Now I have to be paranoid and worry about every possible threat I can’t see. And they completely ruin the Neighborhood district, which should otherwise be a no-brainer to build. Plus I have to tediously build more units and plan out which cities to put them in, as well as which districts to place them in for maximum coverage. There’s enough of that micromanaging in the game that I don’t need more.

I miss the option to turn it off like in previous Civ versions.

I would like to see world congress improved by allowing people to vote on the agenda a couple turns before the actual vote. When you get two random ones each time, sometimes they are just things you don't care about at all.

Religion, world congress, and tourism. Districts in their current form. Canal cities, as the other guy said, and flooding + flood walls. Military engineers and production rushing. Governors. Dark ages that aren't dark. Trade routes coming from districts instead of from the tech tree, there's WAY too many traders to deal with late game. The whole trade post thing, as well as trade yields coming only from the districts.. The build queue that doesn't even work. The quotes, such a waste of money they were. Chopping woods, just add a wood resource already instead of that production rush nonsense. The future era, more like the superboring era. Could probably go on.

Diplomatic favour. Its just not well implented imho.

Or at least let you know in advance what the agenda will be

World Congress, agendas as currently implemented, and tornadoes. I'd also like the pre-GS science victory back.

There is a lot I'd like to be able to change, but not so much that I would remove completely, except:

- the immortal leaders
- most districts
- the whole 1 combat unit per tile limit or all units that make no sense in such a 1UPT mechanism and all range>1 units before long-range artillerie
- religious "combat"
- the SP diplomacy talk/trade during AI turns and the full screen diplomacy
- tourism
- the jersey system
- canals/tunnels
- victories before late game

That's ALOT of the game!

It sounds like you just don't like civ. Maybe you should look for something else to play?
