Persia. Sometimes I rename them Sparta but if you have watched 300, youll know its a bit strange as in the film they are at each others throats...

up until recently i used the mayans a lot. but i have made it a point to try a different civ every game i now. helps you figure out a better way to achieve victory if you have played as the civ you are against at some point.

The list doesn't include agricultural or seafaring tribes (in Vanilla). Do we have a Vanilla only player here?

You should have allowed for "none of the above" I am in the process of working through every Civ in the game and I tend to try different Civs anyway. There was a time when I always played Persia and that was too limiting.

At one point, I forced myself to take "random" for each game so that I was not getting slotted into ruts.

After I play them all - I might just play them all again at Regent but I don't ever plan to play the same one all the time.

Agreed with darski - I generally switch it up a good amount. There's a few favorites, such as Rome, but even the favorites are below 10% of the time. Variety is the spice of life, as they say.

I only play vanilla. I tend to use Babylon for diplomatic, culture or space race and Aztec for domination or conquest.

"Random" wasn't a choice, but it is what I usually use.

I find the industrious trait is the one I love the most, more so than any given Civ. There were games when I would think again before playing if I found the Civ wasn't industrious. i would play the game usually but with just a bit of attitude :twitch:
