One year after the release of CIV7, I think it would be interesting to know how the community feels about the different features of the game, namely what the players miss from previous versions, what they think should be improved or what new features could be added in future DLCs or future versions

I suggest that everyone votes on the poll and then post a small text explaining your choices.

My choices were:

AI performance - with the recent advancements in Artificial Intelligence shouldn't we expect better performance from non-human players? I hope that in future versions of CIV the AI makes better decisions to make the game more challenging instead of providing outrageous buffs for the AI in higher difficulty levels.

Immersion - I miss the little things, like the torch-shaped scroll from CIV1, the throne room and the advisors (in CIV2 or 3 the scientific advisor was Sid Meier). It would also improve immersion if there were short videos after you discover a technology, conquer a city or finish a city building, instead of a blunt message saying that you accomplished this or that.

Environmental events - I miss the volcano eruptions and blizzards from CIV6.

Sociopolitical events - it is time to start considering the addition of historical events such as migrations, civil wars, slavery and rebellions.

More action in a specific era - specifically in Antiquity, which most of the times feels like it is rushed.

New features - such as totems and sovereignty points and taxes. See my other threads below in this forum (Sovereignty points ; Totems).

Technology tree - there's so much room for improvement here that I don't even know where to begin with. A lot of relevant techs are missing (e.g. Weaving, Stirrup, Ballistics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Optics, Computers, Internet, Artificial Intelligence, Superconductors, Nuclear Fission, Nuclear Fusion, etc.) and at the same time, some techs in CIV7 are not techs (e.g., Military Training, Heraldry, Feudalism, Guilds should be Civics or Policies).

Civics tree - see above.

Resources - see my thread The ultimate list of resources below in this forum. Spoiler alert: includes Vanilla (special resource of Antananarivo) and Tulips (special resource of Amsterdam).

Governments and policies - see my thread "10 Government types for Antiquity" below in this forum.

World map - enough of cylindrical maps based on Mercator's Projections that distort land surfaces and make polar regions bigger than they really are. I think it's time for an upgrade to spherical maps, even if it implies having a bunch of pentagonal tiles in the middle of the hexagonal tiles.
I'd also like to see bigger and more "detailed" maps, with bizarre shapes, and lots of peninsulas, gulfs and straits, instead of big chunks of monotonous land masses.
