Which films have you seen lately? ΚΓ' - The thread is your movie hegemon.

Still from Nolan's Odyssey:

The costumes are really laughable...

Wake up Dead man.

It was ok. The detective plot was quite trivial, but that's not the main issue. The movie is a conscious parody of a detective movie, which immediately diminishes even the ability to have depth or believable characters.
I am not sure if they seriously expected the viewer to be left with the refrain-like conclusion "that poor girl". Ok, but in the meantime there was murder.

I've started a bit up a random movie watching system similar to what I am doing with my reading plan, but not nearly as convoluted. First up was Gone With the Wind.

Avatar #3 trailer.

Watched An American in Paris.

Gene Kelly's pick-up game would get me-too'ed or cancel cultured today.

I can see why the filthy-minded Hays Office thought Leslie Caron was getting a bit too frisky and provocative with a chair in one dance sequence.

The movie premieres these days. Kapodistrias certainly was one of the most important Greek people of the 19th century and onward. Former foreign minister of the Russian Empire and first governor of the new Greek state. Most likely murdered on the request of Britain.
The main actor looks decently close too.

A famous portrait, by Sir Thomas Lawrence:

Well not according to Wikipedia.

Heavily implied by the foreign office files not yet released, despite over 2 centuries having passed :)
The prevailing sense was that Kapodistrias would tie the country to Russia, although he had no such plans and wanted to be in no sphere.

Likely being suspicious of a particular leader and supporting opposing factions are not the same as instigating an assassination.
There's no "likely" about it. But I see no point in continuing this if you feel victorian era Britain shouldn't be accused. I don't mind romanticism about ruling the waves, but you may attract all kinds of plankton while doing it :o

Cameron recently said that "Hollywood should take it upon itself to regulate the use of ai in movies". To keep out people who aren't trained as film-makers from releasing ai-created movies or scenes within movies.
Then you look at his latest film's trailer and it could have been made purely by ai.

Zero-level subtlety.
