Which films have you seen lately? ΚΓ' - The thread is your movie hegemon.

The Kapodistrias movie (it's released to cinemas in Greece, premiering officially on Christmas day) already sold around 150K tickets (for local cinema, that is certainly monumental). I plan to go see it with a friend.

(edit: it's now approaching 300K tickets sold)

I saw White Christmas on Christmas Day. I don't think I've seen it all the way through in one sitting before.

Grimdark Robin Hood. And it can't be worse than the last attempt:

Just watched The Penguin Lessons. Very good.

The Rip on Netflix. Cool crime drama. For me the biggest problem was that the film mostly takes place at night in unlit locations and it is hard to see WTH is going on. Both Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have beards and who's who can be a problem since the plot is not straight forward. Excellent movie though.

Looks a bit Thor, i need to re-visit the cheesy Dulph 80s version -

No Other Choice (late 2025)

A beautiful Korean film that is a dark comedy.

Starring the villain from Squid Games, it is about a family that metaphorically goes into the wood chipper that is late stage capitalism.

Tons of uncomfortable, sometimes funny, very human moments and scenes.
Spoiler Nonsense :

Kill yourself for your job?

Kill yourself trying to get a job you can kill yourself doing?

Naive, it won't be so easy!

Only geniuses willing to kill everyone including themselves deserve the slim chance of becoming a wage slave with higher than average salary (comfortable middle class). :mwaha:
It got a 9 minute standing ovation at a film festival. :crazyeye:

I think this one is about 40 years too late, but Transformers did well, so... we'll see?

The old film was really cheesy, so I doubt that the new one can be any worse.

^ This will melt your brains; the Dolph Lundgren 1987 film had about twice the budget of STAR WARS. Yet everything looks so cheap in it; sets, locations, effects, costumes...

The ~$200m budget rumored for the 2026 film is scary. I just don't see that there are enough fans of the franchise to warrant such a huge budget?
