Today they aired Richie Rich and last weekend was a Lethal Weapon weekend, which raises my hopes that this year they'll put proper Eksmas movies on, such as Home Alone, the aforementioned Lethal Weapon, and, of course, Die Hard, instead of recycled ‘angling for a kiss under a mistletoe’ plots.

Or National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

If that's the one with Chevy Chase, then I think it's been on recently.

That's weird. Both have been on sometime this year, but they aren't usually aired as Christmas films.

Pink Flamingos, by John Waters.

I was staying at a buddy's house last week, we got drunk, and he decided to put this on without telling me its premise to get my "honest opinion". It was...er, something else.

That's accurate. The version we saw included the original trailer, which was just people coming out of a screening talking about it. No scenes were shown.

I saw The Menu as well and I quite liked it. The message I got from it was that food is primarily meant to be eaten for sustenance and enjoyment. You can get artistic with food but when that interferes with the sustenance/enjoyment part then you're just a food snob.
I can see that too. At times though, it seemed like they were trying to maybe speak more broadly on art and artists though? It is worth a re-watch sometime
They are so unlikeable..how can i root for detectives when all they do is curse, hit people and fail on every police level.
For what it's worth, I don't think you're necessary supposed to like them. I think it's meant to be a damning portrayal of the police in Korea at the time too. You may like THE HOST though in case you haven't seen that! Same director, same lead actor but it's a monster movie like JAWS
Going by the wiki page, and from memory of how Allen was presented in the movie, it would appear the movie makes him be more of a suspect than in the real events.
Or maybe it's just the cheesy way they ended the movie, with paranoia about someone else (iirc a projectionist).
My impression is that Fincher personally believes it was Allen and kind of skewed the movie that way. One of my favorite details though is that every time we see the killer, it's a different actor

Went with a De Palma double feature of BLOW OUT and BODY DOUBLE. BLOW OUT may be the best political thriller I've ever seen (5/5) while BODY DOUBLE feels like the movie Hitchcock wishes he was allowed to make. Fantastic. 4.5/5

I kind of hated the ending of Blow Out.

House of Darkness was better than the ratings suggest, imo.

~90mins movie heavily based on dialogues, worked for me cos it's either funny or interesting talk.
So what made this special? I knew very well what's going on, and they made no attempts to disguise it.
Which was needed to have fun with their talk, lots of puns and sneaky questions that work better if you know (or strongly suspect).

Overall gothic style i guess..everything happens in an isolated mansion.
Some may enjoy the relaxed pacing (not many scenery switches and almost no jump scares), while those in the mood for action could get bored.
An intentional obvious movie surely isn't for everyone. Stunning ending however (some gore included).

I can give hmm..a generous 7/10. Was different and never annoying.
Oh and there are sexy ladies for you guys in this one, yup ;)

Power is Primal
Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure and introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons. Directed by Steven Caple Jr. and starring Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, the film arrives in theatres June 9, 2023.

Harrison Ford returns as the legendary hero archaeologist in the highly anticipated fifth installment of the iconic “Indiana Jones” franchise, which is directed by James Mangold (“Ford v Ferrari,” “Logan”). Starring along with Ford are Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”), Antonio Banderas (“Pain and Glory”), John Rhys-Davies (“Raiders of the Lost Ark”), Shaunette Renee Wilson (“Black Panther”), Thomas Kretschmann (“Das Boot”), Toby Jones (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”), Boyd Holbrook (“Logan”), Oliver Richters (“Black Widow”), Ethann Isidore (“Mortel”) and Mads Mikkelsen (“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore”). Directed by James Mangold, the film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serving as executive producers. John Williams, who has scored each Indy adventure since the original "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in 1981, is once again composing the score.

I'll have to keep my eye on the new Indiana Jones movie after the real snooze-fest that was Crystal Skull. "Dial of Destiny"? I see 1960s cars but also Nazi Europe...Sounds like time travel.
