Which game setup is your favourite?

my favorite is to play coop with hubby. he'd rather play WoW tho, so we've only done that twice *pout*.

Huge / Lakes / High Sea Level/ 18 Civs, everything else standard. (High sea level needed to add at least some geography to a Lakes map).

Large / Pangea or Continents / Low Sea Level / Epic / Monarch / Random Leader

I like to play different leaders each time so I'll start over if I get a leader I've played recently.

Emperor

Pangea/Standard/Temperate/Medium/Ancient/Normal/Random/Cylindrical/STANDARD

No Barbarians
No Tech Trading
No Vassal States

Conquest/Domination only

Huge
Continents
7 Civs
Marathon speed
Prince Difficulty

I like loooong, slooow games! :coffee:

Terra land
Normal speed
Random leaders (including mine)
everything else default

Relative newbie:

Warlord/breaking into Noble
Monarch
Huge
Continents
Often random leader but enjoyed most Rameses, Asoka, and Washington
No tech trading
No vassel states

Standard size, all random civs including mine, fractal map, normal speed, immortal.

This might sound crazy but I really enjoy playing on Duel Maps with 6 opponents, with raging barbarians, Monarch level, with aggressive AI. The games don't last long, but they are a lot of fun for me. :mischief:

8 games out of 10:

Standard size, continents, temperate, 6-9 opponents, marathon speed, all victory conditions.

Huge fractal map with 10 opponents, marathon speed, all victory conditions, as Julius or Augustus.

Often I'll play with total elimination (destroy all units as well as cities). Adds suspense as that last naval unit is hunted down.

Number of opponents affects barbarian strength to a large degree. Player and AI handicaps vs. barbs modified (reduced to zero) in XML.

Most times a Noble standard shuffle map with 7 AI. (Alexander, Genghis Khan, Montezuma II, Ragnar, Shaka, Stalin & Togugawa) and for me a Random Leader.
No Time or Diplomatic Victory. Aggresive AI & No Tech Trade & Peaceful Switch.

Tiny/Pangea or Fractal, normal speed sometimes Small if I am feeling adventurous.

standard sized shuffle map, normal speed, random leader, random enemies (but not randomized personalities... can't stand that), all other settings standard default.

-18 civs
-Huge map
-Either Earth or Custom Continents
-Chieftain (bumping up to warlord though tonight) :D
-Marathon
-Standard settings except I like Raging Barbarians
-Random leader

I really like the huge maps but it makes conquest seem almost impossible. I'm thinking of moving down to large maps and seeing how my conquering does then. I haven't played the small maps though, except for the tutorial, so I may try them out as well.

Also, to whoever said you needed 2 gigs of ram to play huge maps.....that's not true at all. I have no trouble at all with huge maps and only 1 gig of ram, and my processor isn't even a dual core.
