"Your generation" is a meaningless charade. You'll disappear, just like the beatniks and flappers. What will you have to show for your hedonism, lack of patriotism, and disrespect of values? Nothing.
on the flip side, what will you have for not being hedonistic, being patriotic, and disrespecting "values". a life that is equally forgotten, but far less fun and interesting.

The Flappers profoundly changed American culture, as did the Beatniks. We, too, will have our measure of social progress. Hopefully, by the time we're done, your "values" will by totally and entirely gone, replaced by a personal philosophy and system of ethics cultivated individually by each free-thinking person, with the influence of outside forces but with no-one telling them that they "have" to think this way or that. Of course, that's a bit of a utopian picture. I doubt we'll ever reach that level of progress, but I certainly think we'll get closer than we are now.

Why demonize Reagan? Because he was successful in furthering his own values? Don't be jealous.
And let's not forget: liberal economic values (as per US definition) (socialism) have lead to communism and the slaughter of millions throughout modern history.
I know it's fun to pretend that "they" have caused more destruction than "us", but history does not support that idea.
