Which leaders would you like to see for upcoming Featured Games?

    Vote for 5!

These are leaders you'd like to see games and strategies for, who can be different from your current "favorite" leaders. I've omitted ineligible leaders used in games 1-2 or who require a paid DLC. On Friday Oct 14th I will use this poll and my own gameplay experience to determine the leader for the next game of the month, then start working on the Game 3 map. Votes after Friday will still count for future games. You can see upcoming events on the website, civmodding.wordpress.com.

I would absolutely love to be able to use the new and shiny Satrap Courts, so Darius :)

(btw: not sure if intended. the Satrap's court costs the same amount of production as a bank, while it still replaces the market.)

I voted for England and Greece. I rarely play as them!

Also, would it be possible that the next GotM is played on a Small map? Standard makes my computer cringe especially with VEM :)

I've voted for builder style leaders or those who should be effective at going tall, as I think that it's the best way to test how great an incentive there is to both semi-ICS and go to war. As someone who instinctively plays with a tall and peaceful empire, a game where (selfishly) I could do pretty well as well a game where dominant strategies aren't as effective. Playing conversely and being successful is always interesting and may be the way to highlight little problems with both the mod and vanilla.

I've voted for a leader who is stronger at going tall this time, after the stomp fest with Arabia.

Another option would be to keep going through civs alphabetically
    #1- America
    #2- Arabia
    So...
    #3- Aztec
    #4- China...etc

Aztec covers both of these criteria, so they would be my first choice.

It will take over a year to go through them all, and the mod changes over time, so I want to emphasize leaders who are good candidates in the particular state of the mod. I also think it's good to alternate between leaders with different strengths for variety. Alphabetical would be simple but probably not the best method. The idea is to provide fun and exciting games for everyone to play as the "ideal VEM experience."

With that criteria in mind, it looks like the Ottomans, England and Persia are in the lead.

All potentially interesting leaders. With Elizabeth we could explore a fundamentally different map focused on naval warfare like the Fractal script. Suleiman games provide an interesting juxtaposition of specialists and warfare, two concepts that are normally opposed. I suspect Darius is ranking highly because Persian gameplay changed significantly in a recent version, so it's new and unexplored.

An acid test of the viability of island/coastal cities and naval warfare could be good. Maybe an emperor level archipelago or tiny island/high sea level game with Elizabeth at some stage?

I'm keenest on Persia for GOTM3. The new Satrap's court looks interesting, and pumping happiness is very flexible victory conditions.
