Which Mario 3 power-up would you take?

Mario 3 was one of my favorite games for the NES.

After considering the income possibilities, I think the Kuribo’s shoe is the best—possible inroad to a pro basketball career. Hammers would be useful too, but I think I’d tire throwing them, and that’s really something that doesn’t cost a lot of money nowadays.

I don’t need fireballs. Kinda dangerous. Flying, I really don’t have anywhere to go at walking speed that I need to fly to—sure, it’d be nice to skip busy elevators or go over red “don’t walk” lights, but that hardly justifies it as a really useful power-up.

Swimming, not big on that. The statue thing, I guess that would be useful if you get into a lot of bar brawls or something but again, it’s something that really would be so limited in use that I couldn’t imagine it having much utility.

Coming back around to the shoe, can I get it in regular size or do I have to have it up to my waist like in the game? If so, I might go for the hammer suit. I’m divided on what to pick.

I've only played the first one, but the shoe sounds most like the super mushroom from that, so I'll take it.

If you get the star then you get to hear the disco music.

If you beat Bowser in the last level with the hammer suit, frog suit, or tanooki suit, I’ve heard you get a special message from the Princess. I don’t know how you could possibly beat it with the frog suit. The Bowser statues shoot lasers at you and you can’t run with the frog suit. Maybe the star would last enough that you could get past the statues by starting out with both the frog suit and the star.
