I'm a WWI man myself since I think it was one of the last beautiful wars, with trenches, mustard gas, artillery shock, and mud everywhere. WWII lacked the beauty that WWI. I also don't like the ideological component attatched to WWII, senseless mortality is far more apealing to me. What is your favorite?

P.S. The "Other" option is for those who might say the Seven Years' War or War on Terror are world wars.

They both lack Giant Death Robots, so they both are worthless.

I don't find the Second World War to have been remotely interesting.

And I might end up devoting my academic life to the First. So yeah.

Does it have to be a modern world war?

I'm quite partial to the Mongol conquests of the 13th century myself. :p

EDIT: Actually, I'm going WWII. I find everything about it just fascinating.

I prefer WW2, more depth to the strategies, more fronts, more action, better tanks, better planes, better small arms, more alternate history possibilities, more men, it's just an all-around better conflict.

Those do not meet any reasonable definition of 'world war'.

    Ah, ok.

I ended up deciding to go with the long anticipated sequel to WWI anyways, so it's all good.

    EDIT:

    World as in known world.

WWII. The aerial combat which became more widespread in WWII truly fascinates me.

By this do you mean my poll is not public (I thought it was...) or do you mean a non-republican Polish state sucks, therefore WWII is best war?

WWI, although my favorite war is probably the Thirty Years War, closely followed by Justinian's Italian Wars.

The mustard gas! I know! God that was just a thing of beauty. It's sad mustard gas is now illegal, so unsporting of the Swiss to leverage that.

When they're rocking giant death robots, then I will be interested. But the robots must be fueled by living human fetuses.
