Which XML files control leader traits?

I've attempted to edit leader traits in the past but I must've been doing something wrong, since nothing seems to have happened.

I went into the LeaderHeadInfos XML file (I believe--I'm on a different machine at the moment) and changed a leader's traits in there, but it didn't seem to have any effect in-game.

Are there other XML files that need to be edited, or did I do something wrong? It seems like a relatively simple task, so I'm beside myself over why it isn't working.

Leaderheadinfos.xml determins which traits a Leader have, not which effects a trait have!

Go to Traitinfos.xml to change the effects of the Traits ;-)

Quite so, but I'm not looking to change what the traits do--just which leaderhead has which traits.

I changed leaderheadinfos.xml, and it didn't seem to do a thing.

I dont think any changes effect already "in-Progress"/previously saved games...

you have to restart to see any changes...

Im not sure but in my experience... any changes (except unit size alterations) will only work when you start a new game...

Ah-ha! Here's my problem: when I reinstalled the game in anticipation for warlords, my ini was restored to the default state so it wouldn't clear my cache. That's why I wasn't seeing any changes when I edited the file!

how do you do have the INI Clear the cache?

I set DisableFileCaching and DisableCaching to 1 and yet when I exit the game I still see files in the cache

am I missing something...? or another line I have to edit?
