I know I wrote that little paragraph horribly, but you missed the whole point . I gave out (well, attempted to give out) the goals of the 'evil trio' alliance. Thy, after taking the HRE crown, would eventually begin to gobble up the rest of the German states (starting with Brandenburg, and then Bavaria) until he would 'unite' Germany. Littleboot's, on a somewhat side tangent, would eventually seek to unite Italy behind the Papacy- with alot of help from his 'allies'. And you, the hardest for me to place a finger on btw, would either annex parts of Brandenburg, Bavaria, or Kalmar or attempt to take the Balkans or Russia . Through, in the end, your reward just might be getting to kill all those people .

Though I don't understand how we compensated the various setbacks of historical progress...

Mughals and Ottomans, and to a lesser extent the Spanish, failed to build their huge empires of OTL, but Khmers have failed to build their empire of BirdNES in real life. So it's a slight compensation.

He did, at any rate, but the thing he is he can't condemn us because that will make things even worse.

Still, I'm sure he'll find a way out of this predicament, and by then we would be able to get back to healing the Church.

Please, as if that arguement would ever stand. While I admit, as I did before, you seem to be more of a tangent of the alliance, you are still- by far- a member of that bloody alliance. Just as the other two had not-so secret motives, I'm sure you do too .

Well, I never said he would do it in a smart manner, but he would try- and you would assist . Thats the bloody point of the 'Evil Trio' allianc ein my opinon. You've already shown a certain willingness to meddle in German affairs, and knowning Thy as well as I do, he'd never sit back and allow you to remain off to the side . But in term of his resources, he's actually in quite a good position- he has Papal support and the assistance of great, big neighbor with a hankering for war .

Hehe. I admit the Littleboots is much more IC than alot of people. In fact, I actually thought his position was more like yours until recently. It took me a little while to work all this out, so keep with me as I explain how Littleboots is actually the evil genius behind this whole ordeal .

Initially, I thought LB was simply supporting the Order out of an interest in keeping Europe Catholic. And, at first, like alot of people, I did think it was Thy's annoying arse who came up with the Order. But beneath the surface a whole another story dwells . You see, I know Thy and LB were in indepth talks around the time the Order came into being, and it was only natural that the talks move to other topics. The Order, in all forms, has been an arm of the Church and thus must have started with the church. While it would be nice to sit back and think of LB as a nice person, he's actually pretty evil down deep. Like Thlayli. Basically, LB came up with the Order and passed it on to Thy (who always loves to be annoying and fight religious wars). While he might not seek to unify italy, I have reasons to believe such and so I'll stick to my pigheaded.

As for you guys hurting him, are you kidding me? You do realize that alot of the anti-Order feelings, and the associated anti-Papal, are mainly my origination, right ? As of now, he still has strong support in Portugal and Austria, so I know you can't be talking about that. France is naturally opposed ot the Order, so you can't expect anything else from me. And it was lobby from France that caused certain Catholic nations to drop the Order. The Papacy's position is still undamaged through most of Europe, being only slightly tarnished in France and Germany. And on that, once again, France is still a mostly Catholic nation following the word of the Pope. Should the Pope fully drop the Order, he could expect alot of the French citizens to come back to the Church .

And, as much as you want to convince everyone that you're really evil das, I've learned that you're just too smart to be plain-out evil . There has to be some underlying reason for you to act; some reward that will assist you in your own plans. You're just too smart for your own good .

I have on many occassions done stupid things that promised short-term military gratification and long-term disaster for whatever empire I happened to be in charge of at the moment, and even more so for its allies, who are to a large extent kept in the dark about said inherently-senseless plans. I could never emphasise enough that Thlayli is insane. As for LittleBoots, I concede that if anyone does have a very cunning secret plan around here, especially a one that could actually work, then it is he.

I think he's actually an escaped CIA counterintelligence experiment.

Calusa's "modernization" was largely the product of European's fleeing the religious wars of Europe and coming to Calusa, bringing their knowledge with them. Now, (off the top of my head I think about 30 years after they first came), Calusans who had been apprentices have become masters themselves, so Calusa is less dependant on Europeans.

Out of everybody here, you have the most experience of all. That, coupled with the fact you'r uber-pwnage-ish-in nature, dictates that you simply have to be up to something all the time . No matter how much you try to hide it. Saying that you're not up to something is like saying that alex will actually do something .

I worked with him a fair amount too, and I had learned to always underestimate him, because he will always fail miserably. Yes, I have not failed to note the irony in that JosefStalinator can say Sheep was an ass, and das can say Thlayli will always fail--both rather seriously it would seem--yet I am the resident arrogant SOB of the forums. If I said those things, there would be about three immediate replies condemning it and much whispering in the background immediately afterwards, simply because I was the one who said it.

And that's fine, because it means I don't have to try and be civil much and am just that much more free to act as I will, but it's rather quite annoying too. Amusing, but annoying. Now that's hypocrisy. But I digress.
