While We Wait: Part 4

Bring back the Monroe Doctorine, force Canada too! Long live the United States of America, largest country in the world!

(I would think it would be if it annexed Canada and Mexico.)

@germanicus12, seems like McCain is who you should be voting for :) Unless of course you think he's been compromised by the Communist mind-control...

Obama is obviously going to sell out to europe, resulting in the USA being annexed by somalia.

You see, Obama wants to bring the troops home. Now, what do you think they will do once they arrive back in the USA? That's right, invade Canada!

Living in the state McCain represents as a Senator, and having voted for him in 2006, I can conclusively say his stance on the issue of border security is neither strong, nor productive. You're not going to see either candidate voice a strong desire to crackdown on the border, particularly when they're both desperately fishing for Latino votes (because La Raza means "the people" and not "the Race" dontchaknow ).

I don't have anything against Mexicans or Mexico in particular, other than the fact that they're trying (intentionally or not) to force a demographic shift in the southwestern US, and they're bringing along a lot of Mexico's problems in the process (including corruption and violence, because Mexico's government is and has been for the past 150 years a broken and dysfunctional entity)--I don't appreciate that last part.

Yes, naziassbandit changed his name to Princeps because he found his old name to be immature. He also used to NES.

I agree with you completely. I live in one of the most liberal places in the United States and when I say I believe in the Republican Party, tighter border control and a swift, complete and victorious end to the war I am characterized as a warmonger and a racist. However people fail to believe or maybe understand that the above is so detrimental to the US and they don't understand for god knows why. Thank you Symph for a coherent and well put argument.

Story time: In Mexico this summer I spent some time in Cancun with 3 other friends. One evening returning from the clubs on the very American tourist strip on foot. A pickup truck reading "policia" pulls up on the curb in front of me and two others assault rifles raised. Me and my friends were pushed against the truck and searched. I dunno about ya'll but I really like my freedom to walk the streets knowing the police wont assault and rob me (my friends wallet lacking 5 dollars afterwards). True story the corruption is real and the stories of Mexican police jumping the border must be true. This is true and you can read even worse stories from other vacationers.

In other news Brett Farve has been traded to the New York Jets. Hooray for the continuation of the Madden Game Cover Jinx.

Well, I'm not really a Republican (I'm basically a Central Nationalist), I voted for McCain because the other guy was a nobody with a bad platform. I intend to vote for Obama because McCain has become increasingly irrational and disturbed over the course of the past few months in my opinion, and I don't see him as fit to command this country in light of such behavior. His platform is also...lacking, and increasingly out of touch. If McCain loses the Presidential race and comes up for re-election here in 2012, I will seriously consider his opposition.

I generally hate party affiliations, especially in two-party systems, due to the way it pigeonholes positions ("If you believe in X you must be a B!") and polarizes people. I personally hope the members of the First French Republic who started the whole Left vs. Right thing continue to rot.

I call things like I see them, and I'm mostly just interested in the well-being and continued dominance of America because republican capitalism (note: lowercase-R) is better than authoritarian capitalism as far as the fate of the rest of the world is concerned. But, this is all of course neither really here nor there.

I just resent the fact that Hispanic illegal immigrants seem to mostly get special (better at least) treatment compared to other illegal immigrants. Curse their political influence!

I understand the pigeonholing the the 2-party system creates as well as the uselessness you might feel if you affiliate with another party during an election.

You will not find me pigeoned holed within the Republican Party. Many of my beliefs are indeed Republican in nature however I am not Republican because I feel like it. I wont go into pros and cons on issues but I do like people who take a stand in their Party but may disagree on certain points.

That said thats one of my problems with McCain. He, before his inevitable nomination, was a more centrist of the Republicans. Working across the aisle on bills and so such. Now however he has definitely changed his positions to gain the support of more hardliner Republicans (despite aligning more with my views).

Common politicians take a stand and stop bending your beliefs and then not delivering in office.

I'm on the homestretch for LINESII Update #32! I only have to complete everything south of Myocaca!

Now, to go to bed quietly, before my parents catch me up at this hour and kill me, thus preventing me from ever posting the update.

Hey das, could you give me some pointers on how to post while incorporeal? It might come in handy. ;)

Everything south of Myocaca? That leaves the Valins and God knows how long you usually take working on them...

To illustrate this point, here's a mind shattering quote from the BBC:

"The press freedoms organisation, Reporters Without Borders, has classified Mexico as the second most dangerous place in the world for journalists after Iraq."

That's right, over Nigeria, over Indonesia, over Sri Lanka, Burma, Chad, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Colombia, etc.

Insanity.

Can we have a new thread, or is this one going on for as long as possible?

So azale, where is the PRC on this list? I mean, I'm pretty sure Mexico is a democracy so shouldn't journalists be safer there? ;)

(Yes, I am perfectly aware of why exactly the journalists aren't safe in Mexico. I am simply trying to make a statement that at least the PRC protects them.)

PRC has its lofty spot in press freedom rankings (or lack thereof), don't you worry. ;)

We usually reach 4000 posts before starting a new thread.

And don't worry, I'm finished all of Thlayli's myriad, destructive and amusing campaigns.

Those might actually not be the real adjectives, but it throws everyone off the scent of what really happened.

Unless you're Kal'Thzar.

At any rate, I'm now writing about Myocaca's fun little 'event'.

*laughs evilly at apparent spoilers that don't really explain anything*

No, we dont.

While We Wait: Part 4. 3,655 posts
While We Wait: Part 3. 2,323 posts
While We Wait: Part 2. 3,019 posts

Well, we approach 4000 posts. Often we go earlier because someone jumps the gun and starts a new thread.

I want to reach 10,000 personally.

As long as a mod doesnt poke their nose in, why not
