You must surely appreciate that most posters are not familiar with this sort of thing, and given the gravity of the topic, may ask that you fill in certain gaps before taking your word for it.

They're just trolling. I'm sure there's an end-game

since the video is not available here I can only go by the OP's description of the event. While it seems that Hill is acting like a jerk here it baffles me to hear that any of that would justify pulling a lethal weapon on them.

Well consider how threatened you would feel if two people were yelling at you and preventing you from leaving a situation just because you didn't apologize to them for some perceived slight. I know if someone were preventing me from leaving a situation like this I would certainly feel the potential of them engaging in violence against me would be pretty high and I would use anything available to dissuade them from engaging in violence so I could get myself out of the situation.

It's a misdemeanor so it's not really something available to get out of the situation.

Here's how I know when pulling a gun is ok. I'm a big guy, I'm confident I can physically dominate ~95% of the people I meet. In this situation would it have been acceptable to raise my fists and threaten to knock Hill into next Tuesday? Be honest in your thoughts here. I would be threatening assault and could actually be charged for it if the court got a bug up their ass. Guns are the great equalizer. It turned that little mom into more of a threat than I could ever be and she had it pointed at that lady's face. She was threatening something far worse than I'd do if I used my fists to solve the problem. I've had my whole life to learn I can't use violence to get out of a situation but when you put a gun in someone's hands they're a baby in that regard.

It was wrong. There's no real defense for it. What Hill was doing was wrong but pulling the gun was too. You can't threaten violence just because you're uncomfortable.
