If we're talking about floods then, yeah, I'd label it as pure coincidence, as flooding is probably the most common natural disaster on Earth. Therefore, it'd make sense for different cultures to reference a flood destroying man and that flood as being an act of God/god/gods/goddess/goddesses/whatever.

no man can see the fathers face, mosses saw the manifistation of God in the burning bush. Any that have seen him have seen a manifestion of him, not god in his true spirtual form. The other 3 verses deal with his true form, not his manifiestions.

And no candle isnt a troll, Candle also does not judge you, I rebuke you as I am commanded to do by god.

Also if you choose to read the bible without pay atettion to the teachings and instead wish to twist it for your own views on the matter, without reading it in context of the gospels and the words of christ himself. You will be judged on judgement day for your views

Candle, I suggest you find another way to bring your message to this forum. Trying to get people to change by trolling and flaming them is not the best way to get them to your point of view.

First of all, Learn to captialize the letters in my nick!!!
Second, the bible is just a book just like any other book. It's just another medium for God's word. Just like God's words can be inputted into a text document or Internet webpage. Remove every text on the Bible, and you're left with just a book.

Don't give me that faith nonsense and insane riddles. My faith does not need work. Your feathers would be ruffled too if someone told you that you are not a Christian because you accept evolution and in a wrong Christian denomination.

I'll let the mods sort out who's a troll and who's not. Also, you just judged me and other moderate Christians. It's not called rebuking, it's called judging when you say a fellow Christian is not a Christian.

No I won't, Ill just get reincarnated into another person :smug:

If candle tried to come after me with a bonesaw, he'd be seeing a shotgun barrel pointed at his face.

Okay: On a more serious note regarding the OP and people being pushy from both sides:

MOST (not all) of the people who evangelize are rather iffy in their theological knowledge. They haven't read the entire Bible, they go by what the pamphlet they are handing out says, or by what their pastor/youth leader says. So, even if they are 100% genuine in their beliefs, their beliefs aren't backed up by the same amount of knowledge that most hardened atheists accept.

On the other hand, for believers that have a wide array of knowledge, atheists can be quite annoying too for their stereotypes of "Christians" or other believers. So, it's not so much that either side is pushy, it's that usually you don't get a believer and atheists talking to each other that have the same amount of knowledge. If you do: it can lead to some really interesting discussion unlike that which we have had in this thread.

I was thinking more along the lines of "Even if it did put you square with the Lord, the state of Mississippi is a bit more hard nosed."

Looks like the religious are being fairly pushy with each other here. How is an atheist expected to keep up?

You didn't get the allusion I was making to the game of Hearts, I guess?

Anyway, that was the line I was referencing in the first post, after the whole baptism thing.

Just thinking about it, I would think forest fires much more prevalent that floods. Simply having a lightning bolt ignite a tree and cause a fire is much more common than say a storm heavy enough to cause a really large flood.

That being the case, why isnt there a prevailing myth/legend about fires destroying everything among different cultures of the world?

Still waiting for the 'truth and light' surrounding you huffing bleach/cleaner to get out of military service.........

Thats not going to go away anytime soon either....you can count on that.

Nope. Wouldnt ruffle me a bit.

Reason: I know who I am in Christ.

You dont see me starting to doubt my faith every time someone says something like that.

That would be your first indicator right there. Influence others...dont let others influence you.

Where, exactly, is this a Christian belief?
