'Who is your main?' Foundation Challenge

I unexpectedly triggered the 'who is your main' foundation challenge last night during a particularly successful game as Ben Franklin. The challenge is worth 100XP and you clear it by getting one leader/persona to level 10. I don't think Ben is the character I play most (although maybe the most successfully since I got the achievment with him?) but it got me wondering if people have developed mains or are still working through the list (I've now completed at least one game as each leader, for example).

Also, if you've got 'who is your main', who did you achieve it with?

I got the achievement with Trung Trac, who was the first leader I played a second game with. That said, I don‘t consider her my main. I don‘t think I have nor will have a main. For civs, yes, maybe. But not for leaders. I usually go random anyway (using an external randomizer to avoid being stuck with „fitting“ civs).

On PS5 this appears to be bugged (along with many other challenges!). I got Confucius up to level 10 a couple of weeks ago but it's not popped.

I'm currently focused on unlocking all the mementos (with the next goal likely to be getting any lv9 stragglers up to 10), but when I started playing, I was just letting the randomizer do its thing. At that time, the game decided that I was an Ashoka (World Renouncer) main, and rolled him in maybe a third of my first 15 games. It should come as no surprise which leader reached max level first.

Queen of Wa is my fav, but I’m trying to play everyone at least once now

I think Ibn Battuta and Achaemenid Xerxes are tying for the leaders I play most. The latter I did not expect to enjoy as much as I did, and I like the flexibility that comes with Battuta. Battuta was my first level 10...

Civ-wise, I am enjoying Aksum a lot more than I expected in Antiquity. I didn't think they'd be my main, and I don't think they're powerful, but I just find them neat. Hawai'i and Songhai are my standouts for Exploration. I guess Meiji in modern, but I end most games at exploration.

Hello Civ 7 Fans - I accomplished level 10 with Isabella and Simon Bolivar. I have level 5 with Tecumseh and Ben Franklin so I will start with them next. The majority of the leaders I still have not played. So early ramping up on other players should go quick. Going from level 7 to 10 is where all the work goes into play. I actually use a note pad next to my laptop to keep me focused on achieving XP points. My goal is to reach level 10 with all leaders. I posted a new thread today asking if anyone knows of a mod which keeps track of your progress while earning XP points. For example complete "X" legacy path 1-3 times in A E M age.

Brew God

I've only played with less than half the leaders at this point.

Hatshepsut, Battuta, Charles, Tubman, Xerxes Ach, Confucius, Catherine, Isabella, Xerxes KoK. Isabella and Battuta are only level 3 while the rest are lvl 5 or 6.

I still have 16 at level 1! How have you guys played a game with all leaders?!?

I'll probably get Confucious or Ada to level 10 first because I'll be hunting down lvl 9 Momentos once I've played a game with everyone that interests me (Ada does not, but her Momento does).

I haven't played a single leader twice yet.. I've got a dozen or so games done, all civs played... I like to play everyone more than to replay.

Edit: I might decide to get to 10 on a leader before playing all of them. So far I've got Confucius and Xerxes KOK at level 6, Augustus, Hatshepsut, Franklin and IBN at level 5, Ada, Catherine, Rizal and Tecumseh at lvl 4, Isabella at lvl 3 (was my very first game) and ashoka WQ at level 2 on my current explo game.
I'm thinking the confucius lvl 9 memento seems much better than the Xerxes KOK one... anyone think I should aim for another one first ? IBN's seem tempting

I've played a few twice because I ended game at lvl 4 but wanted the lvl 5 Momento. And by played twice I mean; used settings that ensured an Ant or Exp Age domination victory

In my first game as Isabella, I could see her becoming a staple. I just so much enjoy getting natural wonder yields in a few cities and the extra early gold is nice and versatile.

Xerxes A for UI games was a blast.

And Hatshepsut I’ve only paired with Egypt, but it’s such a fun start to be able to keep up on wonders at deity and beyond.

My current game is the only one I've been able to have more than one natural wonder in my empire, and that was through conquest. I know Isabella has a good chance to get one in her first city, but does she increase the number of natural wonders in the world? In the game I'm shift-entering towards completion right now there were only four natural wonders on a standard size map. They seem very rare on all my games.

I was inches away from claiming the second natural wonder on my continent, but no, I got three by capturing two and starting on one. But it makes for very efficient conquest if there is one settlement to shoot for.

I don't think I've played any more than twice to modern era end yet, a bunch of the militaristic leaders I haven't played at all.

I got Tecumseh on level 5 and other leaders on level 2 some on level 3 others on 4... etc. The majority on level 1 which I haven't even tried out yet.

Interestingly I got the challenge: play all base game leaders when I was on my last leader and only finished the antiquity age. Strange. Apparently only one age was all that was required? And I still haven't played either Napoleon yet, but I guess he's not considered base game. I don't have any dlc, so can't play alternate personas.

My first one to 10 will be the one I'm highest with. I think I have a couple 8's, Ibn being one of them I believe. Once I'm done with Napoleon I'll move on to getting some level 10's.

For the leaders/personas you don’t have, does the game display them in the selection menu or are they missing? I’ve been curious about that.
