i thought sam the sham & the pharoahs sang "wooly bully", is it the same song?

btw best version of louie louie is black flags, live!
 
If there were any justice in the world, nobody would have ever sang Louie Louie.
 
The Kingsmen, among others. Most certainly not The Kinks :eek: !

And wooly bully is a totally different song.

There's a website that claims over 1600 different recorded versions of "Louie, Louie" have been identified. The Kingsman's version was the only US national hit (Top 10 in early 1963). Paul Revere and the Raiders version (much superior IMO) was a regional hit in the Pacific Northwest. It later appeared on one of their albums after they achieved fame.
