Who wants to be a #1?

10th of march update.
211 empty spots left
60 religious
34 space colony (getting scarce now, but still a few easy pickings left)
117 vanilla

only 8 down this time. Would have been 9, if Imy normal speed large monarch time had been accepted :mad:.
4 were religious, 1 space colony, 2 conquest (yay me), 1 domination.
At this rate, we're still 6 months away from filled tables (and I'm not talking about how difficult some games may be).


I am going for a few time leftovers, but it's tedious (+ I have a hard time submitting, I have to copy the files to my wife's computer on mine, it's just not working), so I only expect 2 or 3 of those. Maybe I'll change to something else, since practise may make perfect but it also makes you long for something different :mischief:. Maybe I'll finish what I started last update (duel size cultural victories).
 
So how can I figure out where those empty slots are?

either you check the Hall of fame tables, not forgetting to select the speed, one by one, or you shuffle through the xls file you will find herewith.
There are macros in the tables, you don't need them to search, I use them to fill the tables.

Seeing that nobody cares for the duel maps (obviously being excluded from EQM is a big in the choice of your next game), I decided to fill the normal speed duel size religious games.
Man, is that fast! 25minutes for 1 game :eek:
Even the lost games are usually not so fast for me!
I also played a quick large time victory, and that's not quick at all.

I also wanted to play the standard size deity normal speed conquest, but I misselected monarch instead :crazyeye:. I guess the average date for this spot has just taken a wide step forward...

So there are 18 less open spots.
Of those, I took 8 among the easy ones, mostly with non ancient starts, meaning that there are still 100 EQM points to get for those (!).

Misotu killed the deity lines on religious.
No more religious open spots on deity, it's official.
 
Seems like the halving time is pretty close to a year so will take quite a while before this is finished ;).

doesn't seem right.

For 2 reasons :
1) halving time has a value to measurethe rate at which something distroys itself.
The table is not filling by itself. We are filling it.
We don't necessarily slow down when there are less empty spots.
So halving time is not a useful measure here.
I do acknowledge that the last spots may be tougher to get. But when we get there, the top players will see it as a challenge, something I believe is not yet the fact. So it's very possible that only a handful of really difficult games will remain a bit longer than others.

2) I began this thread in january 2008.
583 open spots at that time.
236 in january 2009.
which is a lot less than half ;)

Same as last time.
Nothing jumped from the screen that I feel he need to credit someone in particular.
I continued removing easy open spots, mostly non EQM (duel maps or non ancient starts).
 
Settler Large Space Colony is mine! :D

EDIT: Bugger, beaten by BabaBrian apparently. We need an updated spreadsheet. :p
 
Keep the popular gauntlets going so that there are #1 spots available for the rest of us.
 
cabert, I too dislike open spots in the HOF tables! I am just beginning to take up the Prince level after playing the current Gmajors. So I'm working through the opening slots Noble and below, starting with quick speed and then slower. I only plan on playing BTS for now unless it's a gauntlet or space race.

I finished all the quick speed slots and some normal ones this update. The religious victories are getting a bit boring :p I did quit one game that didn't work out - Huge Normal Warlord Religious. I got boxed in at one end of an elliptical Pangaea continent. No problem right? Well me and ~5 other civs had state religion X, different from AP religion Y. But Brennus on the opposite end with state religion Z decided to spread Y through all of his many cities. By the time I walked spies over (maybe troops would be more effective) to convert and placate him, too many wars have take place and I accumulated too many negatives with my friends, as I did not play great diplomatically this game either. Now I figured out how to work mapfinder, and I plan to run only one rule for huge religious games on pangaea - no coast plots to ensure a more central location. On second thought, regenerating a few times should be enough for this.

If I could have help on the other extreme of the levels it would be good too!
I just noticed that there are no (not 1!) large deity domination except marathon incas.
I did the epic one, but there is an open spot for 100 EQM points on marathon, just grab it.

Who are those pesky Diety players?

Do you have an updated spreadsheet? I enabled macros on the one I downloaded, but it doesn't seem to be updating.

If you want an autoupdating version, it's here . Now just ask denniz to implement a way to check all the speeds at once, or to search for empties...
