Who watchin tha Source Awards?

Actually, they won't. Maybe in San Francisco, but not on K-Rock in New York. They may play the single from Radiohead and the White Stripes, but they don't play the good songs. Anyway, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs get no airplay, neither do the Dandy Warhols (at least not here). Gorillaz got Clint Eastwood played and that's it. Interpol never get played, Kings of Leon don't get played...

Sorry for listing every band I could think of that I listened to in the last week, but I'm trying to prove a point.

In an attempt to get you to sample new artists and legally listen to music, sign up (free) for a Yahoo! Launchcast account: http://launch.yahoo.com/

It's streaming internet radio (works with broadband or dialup just fine) and it plays uncensored music from just about every artist you can think of. What you do is choose the genres of music that you like, rate them, and it will automatically play songs from those genres for you. Or if you want to be more picky, you can choose artists, rate them, their albums, their individual songs, and it will play them just the way you like it. It's a great service and I use it all the time. They even play newly released albums such as Hail to the Thief, White Blood Cells, Meteora, etc (I know none of these are new now, but they started playing them right when they came out.)

Check it out and give it a shot.

I'll check it out. How many artists do they have? Their list seems to be pretty limited, but I guess that's because they base other bands on those...

You can also watch all the music videos you want on it, interviews with artists, and so on.

If there are certain artists you want to rate and add to your playlist, do an artist search for them and then rate them using the little rating icon - if you rate them they will show up on your playlist.

Yeah and don't be fooled by the station setup guide - those are just popular artists that they listed - there are literally thousands of artists you can choose from.

I liked it so much that I upgraded to LaunchCast Plus (but luckily I get it for free through my DSL provider).
