I voted for Monaco in December and I remember I've been surprized then that I wasn't the only one. Monaco had always have votes... the only thing that has changed is that Willem paid attention to Monaco votes when it didn't before. That's the only thing I wanted to say.

And by the way, I didn't deny I've voted for Monaco partly because it's a domestic club. :D

... but I didn't wait them to beat the Real to do so. ;)

Just another thing :

Ludovic Giuly

That's the name to remember in Monaco.

well, it makes sense I didn't pay attention to Monaco votes in the beginning of the CL, since they were not one of the favourites then. Even after the 8-3 against Deportivo I didn't think they'd be in the semi-finals... even Monaco fans didn't believe they could make up for the 4-2 loss in Bernabeu to Real Madrid... guess things are different now. :D I begin to like the CL more and more. Last year Ajax to the QF, this year Porto and Monaco in the semi-finals...great stuff!!

AFAIK, I did. Then again, that can count as "revenge of the idiots" ;)

Well Monaco deserved to win especially after having a player sent off for no real reason and the fact that Chelsea then failed to actually use this to their advantage.

I agree with Dell, after that strange decision it became a great game by Monaco and a pretty embarassing one for Chelsea.

Chelsea have played it very physical, multiplying the faults, and it's a player from Monaco who took a red card. The image of Marcel Desailly and Claude Makelele has been knocked off tonight. The first one gives an elbow blow to Morientes, the second makes an obstruction in the penalty area, makes fun of Andreis Zikos, and exagerates a slap to successfuly send him to the cloakroom.

Even with many mistakes from the referee, they've succesfully scored twice with only 10 players. Wonderful game to watch. Monaco is a brilliant team. There's nothing to say about it. Monaco deserves both to reach the Champion's league final and to win the French Championship.

BOOO!!!

:( What a sad day for Claudio...the night his departure was confirmed? Let's hope not...

@Marla,
Didn't you recently sport the badge of Marseille as your avatar? :hmm:

Well yeah. :)
Actually, I'm not a fan neither of Marseille nor of Monaco nor of any team. My bf is a fan of Paris and Arsenal. As I watch the games with him (it's him who made me enjoy watching football), I usually support the team he supports.

Marseille is historically the french club with the greatest identity. St Etienne has also a strong identity but the city is a lot less specific than is Marseille. When you're in Marseille, you're nowhere else.

Monaco is undoubtedly the best team this season in France. I enjoy a lot to see them playing and personally, I have over there one of my favourite player : Ludovic Giuly. He's tiny and run everywhere, I just love to see him playing. My other favourite player is Thierry Henry. I could talk also about Didier Deschamps but that would be too long.

When I take the logo of those teams as avatar, it's not because I'm a fan, it's simply as a recognition of what they made me live. That's all. :)

PSG? Hmm...well they're on the way back. And no surprise he's an Arsenal fan (so am I)...it's almost a French national team.

I still think Chelsea can beat Monaco at Stamford Bridge. As long as Gallas is fit then it's a blesing for them that Desially is out. He has been very poor this season, he's turning into another Laurent Blanc!

The wee lad Guily is a talent though!!

They can certainly win the game as has been shown throughout the CL this season, it just needs a bit of luck and to press Monaco far more whilst limiting their breaks...

I could never really be a supporter of a foreign team, that's weird to me. Not even when Barça had almost as many portuguese players as Benfica... So what if they have 5 players from one's own country? In 5 years they may have none.

Oh of course there's nothing like Ajax to me! But it's not like I do not care who becomes champion in another country! After Ajax, I most like Arsenal, Barça and VfB Stuttgart. For the other countries my favourites change indeed with the way a team plays. Except for Italy, there I never have a favourite.

Yeah thats the same for me, there are always teams that you would prefer to win but they usually change over time...
