You should elaborate on the options a bit, since Plotinus or Valka may deem the thread too general and not inviting discussion :)

As for me, i should say i don't like rap.

The options aren't limited. If you mean the poll the two listed are commonly thought of as the two best of all time. It's a radiatively new art (30 years or so) so it's not surprising that there aren't dozens of contenders for the best of the best.

Eminem is virtually tied with B.I.G. in my book.

Tupac rounds out the clear top 3 though

Can't say I know much about rap, but I'll go with Biggie. Honorable mention to Big Pun.

EDIT: "It would take a nation of millions to hold us back" is one of the best albums of all time. Even non-rap fans should have a listen.

Heavy Metal fans will probably like "Fear of a Black Planet" more, if only for the Slayer sample on "She watch channel zero".

    run dmc.

i once saw them at a festival where they acted as stand in for some rather big rock act who had cancelled very short term (forgot what it was), which had just been anounced in the afternoon.

they completely rocked the house, a truely amazing feat for a hip hop act under these circumstances.

Pretty hands down the best period.
