So whose calling in sick, using a vaction day, or just blowing off work (or school for you full time students) for Civ V?

I am, but Im taking off Wednesday, I work in the oil industry, Ive been working round the clock the past month and OSHA says you must take off after 14 consecutive days so I timed it right so wednesday i have off, and tuesday im leaving early cause Im allowd to early out once a week. So Im not really ditching just kinda pre planned it.

Nice that you planned it out so nicely

I on the other hand have 4 classes tommorow that I already have missed a couple of times so I can't afford to skip... and I have work right after class, and they don't like it when you call out. Atleast I'll be at the main register, where time goes by at the speed of light.

that seems like a lot of work just for a day of a game you haven't even played yet...but I guess anyone who's a hardened civ veteren (IDK If I am, I still play on chieftan difficulty, but I've played every Civ since Civ III) will like it.

I had today off due to other reasons. Therefore I can't really be "sick" tomorrow, Basically my 24 hour countdown starts now

I don't work or study, so ill have 18 hours a day 365 days a year to play Civ5 for the rest of my life.

i know grammar nazis aren't welcome here, but you should consider not skipping school, considering the subject title ;)

I was going to, but I have no really good excuse and I just used a couple sick days on actually being sick, so I think I may try to sneak out early tomorrow, the game isn't unlocked until 11 where I am so if I can get the afternoon off then It will only be unlocked for an hour or 2 by the time I load it up.

I'm not skipping and instead plan to use the sheer "can't wait" feeling to get me through the work week. Tomorrow will go by much faster knowing a shiny new box is on my doorstep...

...Assuming the shiny new box is actually on my doorstep...

I'm insanely busy all week and can't afford to miss anything. Yay!

I envy those who can. I took a half-day when Civ IV came out, but I will have no such luck Tuesday for Civ V.

Currently unemployed. :D

Unfortunately I have a job interview tomorrow.

But there's the rest of the week. Perhaps I should flub the interview. :mischief:

Taking Friday off for a long weekend with Civ V. I plan to play nonstop from after work Thursday until I pass out and then get up and play more.

Wish I could take off tomorrow, my boss hand picked me to go with him and meet a client tomorrow though :( That's okay, I already have the game preloaded and might actually get home before 5 pm for a change [party]

I've got 40 hours of sick time in the bank that I lose at the end of the year, so I'll likely be under the weather for the rest of the week.

I was going to get all my work done today so I could bone off tomorrow, but that didn't work out so I'm going to have to put it off at least until Wednesday.

I had a week to burn and the 21st is my birthday so I scheduled the vacation that week. Some months later, the Civ 5 release date was announced and I was already appropriately scheduled. I will have to do some birthday stuff to be sociable and see what goodies I might have gotten, but everybody knows that Civ is the main gift this year.

I took the next three days off. My son will be in daycare in the daytime. Even daddy's need a day off with some games now and then ;)
