Why are there two "elven" promotions?

I know I'm probably stupid for asking this, but why is it that in worldbuilder there are two seperate promotions for elven, with the exact same icon and bonuses?

I know I'm probably stupid for asking this, but why is it that in worldbuilder there are two seperate promotions for elven, with the exact same icon and bonuses?

One for Ljosalfar, and one for Svartalfar. It makes sure the right art is used.

One of those elven promotions is actually a "dark_elven" promotion, used for the Svartalfar. The reason for 2 promotions is that these promotions control which graphics the unit uses. "Elven" units would generally be green-clad blond Ljosalfar units, while "dark elven" ones would have dark (or occasionally white or violet) hair, pale skin, purple/grey clothes, etc.
