Why did this AI declare war on me?

My civ occupies a large island/small continent with one other civ. Within galley reach is a somewhat larger land mass with three civs. We're at 620 AD. One of the neighboring landmass civs, Shaka, just declared war on me. The only item on our diplomatic list had been +4 for brothers and sisters of the faith. Shaka still has plenty of territory on his own landmass in which to expand, and the declaration wasn't from the Apostolic Palace - I own that. Why did he delcare war?

That's just Shaka being Shaka. Warmongers are less likely to start plotting/declare war if they've still got land to expand into/you're not a land target/etc., but sooner or later Shaka is going to Shaka.

I wondered if that was the case. Geez, he typically waits until he has some reason.

Shaka has a special dice just made for him.

I love playing shaka because he can't attack me
