why don't we have bridges in Civ3?

You can have bridges over a river - just simply a road. However, if you want them over water (coast, sea, ocean), you'll have to just wait for Civ4 (Projected Release: Late 2005).

There going to be in Civ4? cool. I dont really mind...

Something I'm wondering though, It says that with enginnering you learn how to build bridges or something? When your in the science advisor window, and you put the mouse cursor over the engineering tech, doesnt it say something like you learn how to build bridges, but can't you actually do that from the start by just building roads over them (Like someone said?)

Bah. Im all confuzzled.

Until you have the tech, you lost some movement crossing the river (even with the road).

No, I'm not saying they will be in Civ4, I'm just saying that if you want them, your best bet is in Civ4 as a new feature. There is no way you can have 'bridges' like you say in Civ3.

@warpstorm + Souron: The tech is Engineering.

It's engineering... not construction.

EDIT: Cross-post.

Is there anyway to MOD something to be a "bridge"? I know nothing about it, just curious...
