I have just been to the city view and seen that I have the option to use policemen and city engineers. However I cannot find my manual, and neither of these items are in the civilopedia. Why not ? Can someone please tell me what these options do ?

Thanks

Yes they are, they are under the "Specialists" category.
The Civilopedia is great, especially for such an expansive game like Civilisation.

Thanks Gainy bo.

My laziness I'm afraid. I tend to be in the habit of going to Civilopedie->Index and then the initial letter of what I am looking for . Seeing as all the normal units can be found this way I kind of assumed that specialists could also. I will try again !

Well, he has a point. The Palace is still listed at 100 shields even though its 300 (I think). Also, about the win by 100,000 points of culture, it says nothing about also needing to be 2 times second place. Under "The Wheel", it says "some" militaristic civs start with it, when only Japan starts with "Wheel" instead of "Warrior Code". Maybe others could chime in with their "favorite" civilopedia error.

The palace doesn't have a fixed cost. It has a minimum cost (of 100).

I find the civiliopedia to be very good, though in Conquests most of the new wonders tend to 'h ave wr iting l ik e thi s.' With random sloppy spaces as if they hired the janitor to work on the text rather than someone spending time on it.

The civilopedia contains a lot of information indeed, although some of it is ambiguous or static where it doesn't have to be. Just as the price of the palace is dependant on the size of your empire, the culture limit of 100K is dependant on the size of the map. It would be very helpful if the civilopedia at least indicated in the text that such dependancy exists, rather than just giving a single number and no further explanation. Even better would be if there could be dynamic substitution. After all, you only look at the civilopedia from within the context of a current game. Then it might give the value accurate for the present position.

On a side note, it's inconvenient that in the C3C civilopedia there is no information with techs about the wonders that they cancel. It's only given with the wonder, but the tech should also say "this tech cancels out the great library".

The civilopedia does list the vp scale for the various map sizes. In any case, the VP screen lists this for your scenario.

Wssnt there just a patch recently that fixed some of the sloppiness in the new entries.

Well clearly it didn't fix ALL of them...
