Why is there a sound file called 1812?

    I have wondered this for years. If you ever actually get to the year 1812 (I never have), do you have to fight your King again like the Americans in 1812?

    I haven't played this game in so long so I wouldn't remember.

    It's the cannons as per the 1812 overture. I think there is more than one different cannon sound, perhaps this name was the best for the developers to remember what this specific cannon sounded like.

    No I'm sure it's the anthem of one of the 4 colonial powers. I've listened to all the wavs including this one.

    There's an American fife song called coming of the old 1812 which is part of the game soundtrack.
