Why must I run Civ3 as Administrator?

I prefer to perform daily tasks on my windows 2000 PC as a 'plain' user...not Admin or a superuser. I can run many games, including Quake3 as my FatSean user...but Civ3 will not run!

Is it a permissions issues, is there a work arround? Thanks,

Because of the way Civ3 accesses some of its necessary files, and because of the way Microsoft programmed its NT-based systems' security policy, no, there is no workaround.

You must have admin permissions to be able to play Civ3 on Win2K / XP.
