Why So Few Civ Mods For Mac?

Civ 5 had a ton of cool MOD civs, I liked being Canada or any one of the many US states, or Israel.
Am I missing something or are there very few for MAC, and if so why?

Almost every single mod is compatible with Mac...Civ VI is MUCH more Mac-friendly than V was. And Canada is officially in the game now.
