I think Julias is cramped and has iron. He expands to 4 or 5 cities and kills Napoleon and starts to snowball.

On a map with raging barbs being cramped early might not be the end of the world. And HC has very low food capital and middle of map looks like a lot of areas where barbs spawn early. His UU might stop him from losing a city to a barb but he will be pillaged and have workers harassed which will slow down his early game. So HC might be a sucker bet.

You can just take +400 as x4, +600 as x6 i.e.
Your Shaka to win can give 300x15 (+1500)=4500, 200 on diplo can pay 200x40=8000 (+4000) etc.

NickGabben bids on literally everything?

I started out placing single bets, but then when I wasn't looking somebody took the basket where I had all my eggs, so now I put eggs in every basket, to at least keep some of them. Plus, I'm nowhere near skilled enough to make a prediction. Peace weight? Zealotry? ... huh?

Really no idea how this one will unfold.
Let's exclude HC and his gold start as this being Season 7 should be enough to spell doom for him.

Two of the most promising starts are Peter's and Boudica's... but they also happen to be the least competent leaders of the lot. So that tells us nothing.
Giggles has Copper at his capital, is Protective and Creative (two good traits for Raging Barbs)... but where are his happiness resources ? For that matter, where's his commerce ? (he might get one extra city on his river, but the rest of his land has no commerce at all).
Napoleon and Caesar seem bound to duke it out early. Praetorians hint at advantage Rome, but Rome should be smaller, so more build queues means advantage France. Except the outcome of this fight will probably be decided by the Celts: if Boudica piles on Napoleon, he's doomed... but there's a good chance she'll be fighting Toku, or even more likely, HC (religious tension). So once again... who knows ?
In the same way, geography strongly hints at Shaka vs Peter. Peter has a much better initial position, but Shaka is the better warrior. Here as well, who piles in and on which side will most likely be the determining factor. Shaka seems at a disadvantage as he has more neighbours. So Peter comes on top ? Which, again, tells us nothing as Peter needs the game handed to him and this is not enough to qualify.

So... Saladin ? Trouble is, I don't see him having much success spreading his religion around : being a religious pariah, on top of the peaceweight issue, wouldn't seem too healthy long-term.
Toku then ? He gets to benefit from two of the most likely dogpiles : vs Boudica, and vs Shaka. But he has no copper, and could also be at the wrong end of a dogpile.



Let's no bet on a winner then.

Shaka has a good track record for finishing second, so in spite of his dim prospects in this game, let's take the long odds.
