I cannot tell you how long I have been waiting for some of these units. Thank you.

Wow perfect timing, just as I was getting ready to sink some time into getting my Wild West mod off the ground. Excellent units, imperator.

Great units, Balthasar will be so happy. If I only found a way to put them all into my game... are you planning "ancient" and "medieval" (e.g. pre-columbian Native Americans) as well? Thank you so much!

PS: US Infantry seems to be missing in the zips.

Ok I figured that I could make the Indian units quite cheap but less effective than the US troops, but less dependant on resources. The indians would also be unable to be loaded onto ships, which makes them less likely to be used outside America on World maps. I guess that's a nice way to use them. The Sheriff could be some kind of cheap garrison troop (maybe immobile), while the Outlaws would fit into the role of Barbarians. Gunslingers could be a good "mercenary" unit dependant on a Gold resource or a Saloon building. Cowboys could be spawned by some kind of Farm building or be dependant on a cattle resource. But how the heck can I use the Stage coach?

Yes, it´s a supply shipment unit (flag-unit) that, when beeing escorted to the capital or a victory point location, gives a certain amount of gold. :)

Another Idea: Let the Indians spawn Bisons (=Trade Shipments) when victorious. Let's hope Tom makes a cow unit, too. :)

Why not? Don't make Bessy angry! ;) Seriously, if there was a cow unit to be spawned by cowboys, that would be nice (just a flag unit without A/D).

Great pack, gives me lots and lots of ideas. Oh, and a nice new Settler wagon would be cool (I know about the old one, it's another scale).

My only comment is that the US Army units look too good. When you look at photos from the period and also Frederic Remington sketches and paintings, rarely do you see such nice looking uniforms or such uniformity in the troops. With respect to the infantry, they did not use the heavy packs but had the blanket role over the shoulder normally, with a lot of the other gear carried in wagons. The units that chased the Apache into Mexico actually dropped the standard blue woolen uniform and wore cotton long underwear as being more appropriate to the climate. I will have to see if I can dig out the exact cite on that.

This is not to criticize the units, just a comment by someone who has studied the history of the Indian-fighting Army.

I add the US Infantry in the Attached Files section in the first post.

In a future I would make more units, but I lack references ( pics,images)....

If you need images or pictures, it would be hard to beat Frederic Remington, who was painting them in real life.

His account of going on a scout with a small patrol of the Buffalo Soldiers in Arizona is one of the finest depictions of Army life at that time that I have ever read. The following is an online copy of the piece, which first appeared in Century Magazine in April of 1889. I have an original of the article, and the online version appears to be complete and unedited.

Well, there go about a dozen unit requests for my secret project before I even made them.

Imperator, keep making units. I'll probably use them.
