It seems the only Civ VI anthology - Platinum edition out there, is a complete digital download only, not even the
base game cartridge is included... is this ethical??
Why can't Switch users get the full experience without having to use Switch SSD hard-drive space when the
full game it's only around 12Gb???
The owners of the base version can save at least 6gb of download by using the original physical copy,
and given the Switch SSD space is limited, saving 6gb of space is a massive incentive to get the
original Physical version, and then buy the upgrades online...
Has anyone bought the Platinum release yet?
Does anyone know if a Physical release of it has never been released?

Not a question of ethics, just a question of personal preference. The Switch supports very large memory cards so I doubt 12GB or so would stress most users. For me, I very much prefer having Civ 6 digitally downloaded. This way, no matter what game cartridge is in the slot when I grab and go, I know I can start up Civ 6 anyplace, anytime.

Looking forward to Switch2 for a bump in both screen size and (expected) performance!

Have FUN!

Yeah its a shame. They wanted to save money by printing just the case without the actual game.

Ethical? No
Common practice? Yes

I made the mistake of going almost full digital for the same price of cartridges for the Nintendo 3DS, and I regret it.
For the Nintendo Switch I am doing the opposite I only buy digital if the game I want does not have a cartridge...SD Cards are getting less and less expensive but I don't want to be switching cards that ran out of memory, rather be switching beautiful cartridges. Also my Switch is getting slower and slower at downloading, and no one should be forced to have a stable internet connection to enjoy a game, so whenever I can I vote with my wallet and always go physical release!

The Witcher 3 port is a great physical release because all of the game is in the cartridge, CD Project Red paid for bigger cartridges to cram the full game and DLCs in.
This CIV VI Anthology release is shame in an ocean of shameless physical releases everywhere!:aargh::shake:

I dont think its that common on Switch gladly. WB and Take2 do it. Still Switch is pretty good physical media nowadays comparing to competition.
Such a bummer they decided to go this way.

What's the point to have it always available on your personal SD ram vs having it already fully installed and playable on a cartridge???
I mean yeah, you can always dump your cart full on your SD if that makes you feel more mobile friendly, but at the same time
you just have the full back up right there, in a cart, ready for instant play, can lend to a friend if you want and all of that.
It's not loading faster from the SD either...

Disclaimer: I only had a Dsi and a 3Ds. Never bought into the online thing, and judging from both Wii, Dsi and 3ds digital shop closure, I am very happy for the route
I have taken. I don't know how Civ 6 download is managed on the Switch. If it needs to be downloaded from Nintendo online shop... what guarantee you
have it will not shut down in the future??? I don't know... at least with the original vanilla the basic game is still there...
I wanted to buy a Switch lite only because I could play Civ 6 mobile... but no Platinum cart it's a deal breaker for me.
