Windows 7 and MV C++ 2008 Express

Well, I finally broke down and built a new PC, which has the following:

Processor: Quad Core i7 3.4
RAM: 32 GB
Video Card: Galaxy GeForce GTX 670
Operating System: Windows 7 64 Bit
Software: CIV4, Warlords and BTS
The definitive mod for Civ4 BTS: OGI 3.01

It's a real beast. I want to compile DLLs on my new rig. My question concerns the compatibility of installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express and Windows 7.

Can Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express be successfully installed on a PC with Windows 7 64 bit? Are there any additional considerations or special files that must be installed to make compiling a DLL work right?

VC 2008 works fine on Windows 7. There are no special considerations installing it.
