Wireless game controllers

Are they usable for Civilization games (5 and 6), or does the game really need a mouse and maybe sometimes a keyboard? I've never used a game controller before, but I'm about to hook a spare computer up to the TV for playing games, and wireless would be nice. I could use a wireless mouse but don't always have a good surface for it. (gets jumpy on the couch cushion) Thanks.

You can use expensive and use wireless control like Microsoft keywords personally use for normal but you can use for gaming also that work perfectly...
