Thank you, Paddy; you may now return to your station at the front door. :p

Welcome to CFC, Emily - pls don't worry, I'm certain in a day or two, our local techies will come around and help you. :)

Well, after reading through the site, this seems to be a simple replacement to rj-45 and a hub. So, I'd say it's pretty useless. This is basicly a wireless hub. You won't have networking with this. Or maybe that's what you're looking for, but I can tell you that you won't do much with that.

After reading the user manual, the only way possible to connect this seems to plug your computer in one of the rj-45 plug, and the console on the other unit. But you have a switch to push to activate one or the other, so you won't be able to use both. But again, it depends on what you want to do. Personally, I'd go with a router, as it's way more useful if you have more than one computer/console. And they are really cheap nowaday.

I recently bought a belkin wireless/gateway router and it is working like a charm. It even has a port for the broadband internet connection I am looking to get soon.

It has 4 rj-45 ports if you want to connect to an existing network and it acts as a wireless access point where you can use wireless Network interface cards (NIC's).

Currently, I am sharing this 56k dial up connection, although it is rather slow when 2 or more users download files ;).

Good luck with your search!
