Last night I was playing (first victory! Tower!) and during a war every time a unit used the withdrawl against me, they withdrawled back to their borders. This would be 9 or more spaces away.

Anyone else seen this? Patch L. Thanks.

I have seen this alot lately since my neighbour in my latest two games has been Belsaraphs and Loki does this "Long-Distance" withdraw sometimes. It was rather irritating in my war against the Ljosalfar, they had alot of units with a fairly good withdraw chance and they sometimes ended up way somewhere else.

I think this is from BTS, and BS. ;)

IT is really unrealistic and unfair for a unit that gets beat to be able to double it's movement, first by getting the front, and then by running far away. It should only retreat one tile.

It is really... just sucks and stupid.

Double it's movement? It was like, 5 or 6 times it's movement

I can confirm it. I thought it should work that way. It shouldn't?

I didn't know it was supposed to work that way. My bad. It just seems odd to have someone basically surrounded far away on the coast and watch them jump behind everyone tons of squares away.

I think it is BTS, and it sucks big time.

Or maybe not, it may be the defensive retreat, which I never saw in BTS, in which case, hopefully the FFH team will fix it, because it really is just not realistic, and annoying. Its coll they escape, but they shouldn't be able to teleport, especially since they have been beaten.

Is it possible you were using a unit with a Timor Mask attached to attack a stack?

If you do, often most of the units will be bounced outside your borders, no matter how far away. It will even move a stack when you are not within your borders.

This is really useful if you are not prepared right away for a stack that shows up unannounced and declares war. Simply use your unit with the Timor Mask to keep bouncing them out until reinforcements arrive.

The Mask can be a little inconsistent though on kicking everyone out it's good to have other units around to kill the remaining few.

I love getting one or more of these Masks from lairs, etc. and assign it to my strongest unit(s).

There were no special items on the single unit that attacked. I received no special items that game. I attacked single horse units, and they withdrew out of my borders.

its really funny when they withdraw over the ocean

Not when they're yours!

You know what's worse? Attacking a city and having some horseman defender "withdraw" and stay in the city (especially when its the last defender). I mean really? How does running away keep my units from just staying in the city tile?

What's strange is that I haven't seen this strange behavior before the current version of ffh, apart for loki. I can swear that in previous versions withdrawal was less spectacular. So i doubt it comes from bts.
