A single shell does not qualify as "finding the WMD". Try harder.

I wonder if the Bush administration will be silly enough to make such statements as our "eager" friend here.

No proof the shell came from Iraqi sources, could have been smuggled in
    from anywhere.

Fox News does not qualify as a news source.

And is there any proof that the artillery shell wasn't brought to Iraq after the invasion?

Do you honestly think Iran or Syria is going to risk being caught supplying insurgents and terrorists with chemical weapons? We'll see how the story develops.

Here in Belgium, hundreds of shells with gas from 14-18 are still found every once and a while. So how hard can it be for an Iraqi to find one that either didn't explode or got forgotten? And then use it as a weapon against the occupation.
One shell does not equel weaponS of mass destruction.

Nor do I expect you to admit that you were wrong in posting this thread even though you clearly are.

This is certainly a troubling event, but it is a long way from "finding the WMD" as you would have us believe.

Wow! One shell has been found! Surely this means the whole war was right; that one shell could have caused a lot of damage had someone dropped it!

Yes, sure, not like we found mustard gas in a saddam shell two weeks ago.

"The former regime had declared all such rounds destroyed before the 1991 Gulf War," Kimmitt said. "Two explosive ordinance team members were treated for minor exposure to nerve agent as a result of the partial detonation of the round."

    Nuff said

Anyway, am I the only one who is confused here? I thought WMD were typically biological and nuclear weapons because they can cause "mass" murder meaning hundreds of thousands.

Chemical weapons (the conventional ones like Sarin etc) are just called non-conventional and not WMDs because they have nowhere the destructive capability of nuclear and biological.

Hey this is not even VX!

Japanese terrorists cook up sarin themselves. it isn't that difficult.

I don't think what Iran or Syria does or does not do have anything to
do with the current regime's attitude towards them. It's not based on
    reality.

Wow...one shell... One AK-47 fully loaded would kill more people than that one chemical shell.

Actually, Sairn can be quite deadly in confined spaces.

But wait! I happen to own a pack of toothpicks! They MUST be considered WMD! They sure are deadly!
    Better get in my bunker.......

    John,

show us a news source that is not Fox with the same story and then maybe we can begin a discussion. I'm sorry but Fox is propoganda, and they've gotten big stories wrong before.
