holy . .. .. .. . i won a game.

one on noble difficutly. of course the settings weren't that difficult (i only had 2 other opponents on tiny map. what i did was build a bunch of cho-ko-nu's. then i attacked while they defended with axemen and archers. i got one vassal gave him my techs and some of his land back. then attacked the other AI. it was actually a pretty easy win surprisingly. in total i built 50 cho-ko-nu's and lost 19. wonn by conquest. still trying to win against 5 opponents though.

my strategy for a 5 player map is to start on a map with a lot of hills for production then beeline to machinery. having 3 cities. then i build 10 cho-ko-nu's and attack one civ make them my vassal. then i attack another civ with 10 - 15 cho-ko-nus and make them my vassal aswell. but then the other two civs are always more powerful than me for some reason.

Good job Jake. It is always nice to beat a new level for the first time no matter what the advantages you may have.

My first Immortal win, vanilla was the tiny islands archipelago map. I couldn't beat emperor at the time, and had mixed results at monarch, but the AI in vanilla was so bad at naval maps that this game was cake.

grats! any "first" is major bonus points on my scoring system :). which is completely different from the silly firaxis formula.

:goodjob:

great job jake. any win is a good win.
The reason they are mpre powerful is because in the process of beelining you ignore the techs that make your civs more stable and stronger economically. For more civs, try a bigger map. Or instead of vassalizing a civ, conquer them completely. You will make better use of their cities. once you have the numerical advantage in cities and population you will quickly catch up.

Vassalizing is good, especially now that vassals cannot compete with your cities' culture and do not send spies against you.
