A person on the 2K Forums found the following in new XML from .332:

WONDER_SPEECH_MAUSOLEUM_OF_HALICARNASSUS
WONDER_SPEECH_STATUE_OF_ZEUS
WONDER_SPEECH_TEMPLE_OF_ARTEMIS

There is also sound files relating to that in Assets > Sounds > Speech > English > Wonders - the quotes for the wonders:

Mausoleum of Halicarnassus
The whole earth is the tomb of heroic men and their story is not given only on stone over their clay but abides everywhere without visible symbol woven into the stuff of other mens lives.
(Pericles)

Statue of Zeus
He spoke, the son of Kronos, and nodded his head with the dark brows,
and the immortally anointed hair of the great god
swept from his divine head, and all Olympos was shaken.
(verses 528 – 530 of Homer's Iliad)

Temple of Artemis
It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.

they could always just get patched in, especially if it stays just 3 of them

True. But if that were the case why bring in the files now, and not the wonders?

They also could be from some other future project, e.g. a possible expansion.

They also could be from concepts that Firaxis was exploring but ultimately scrapped; they may have decided it simply wasn't worth the time to go make sure everything was totally scrubbed out.

But then it would be in from the beginning, not added through a patch ;)

Personally I also think it will be for a Scenario DLC.
Like somebody already said: The German guy was right.
(Just like he predicted the other DLC)

I wonder what the scenario will be like. And if it has 'custom' civs, like the Hittites, Assyria, etc.
As a person that like the scenario's I'm pleased to see these wonders pop up in the XML :)

Well if the Vikings/Denmark DLC was released in coordination with a maps pack - i don't see why Joseon/Dutch (or any others, btw) versions wouldn't offer supplemental features such as new Wonders and multiple scenarios -- for our money worth!:D

It's just as likely these wonders were at one point going to be in the game but got cut out, like religion. I think Civ V was at one point a lot more ambitious but 1) they wanted to get it out to make sales, but even more so 2) they realized just making the basic mechanics work, in light of all the core changes to the game, was going to take a lot more work then they had thought.

The main point is the files were picked up only when going over the changes between the old version and post-patch version, so they wern't there pre-patch. Why add them now?

Oh great, more emphasis on the ancient world ... already the best bit in Civ5.

Not a single new refinement for the modern era or the horrible way that aerial units are implemented.

Small fix:

Mausoleum of Halicarnassus
The whole earth is the tomb of heroic men and their story is not given only on stone over their clay but abides everywhere without visible symbol woven into the stuff of other mens lives.
(Pericles)

and the immortally anointed hair of the great god
swept from his divine head, and all Olympos was shaken.
(verses 528 – 530 of Homer's Iliad)

Temple of Artemis
It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.

Yeah, but religion was already in it from the beginning of the game.
These were added in the last patch.

You can tell they were added later by having a look at date created (or modified) in [steam folder]\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\assets\Sounds\Speech\English\Wonder
(Also the XML-info in the startposts comes from a diff between patch 275 and 332).

If they were unused ideas, then these would already be in it from the beginning, like religion, wouldn't they?
But as they came with the 332-patch it makes a strong case that they'll be part of a new soon-to-come DLC.

I'm curious to see how adding wonders in a DLC affects balance. Surely it can't make it easy, given that wonders give large bonuses in very specific areas.

I'm leaning towards a scenario as well. I'm going to trust the Germany guy (who, if someone doesn't give me his name, I'll start referring to as "Paul the Octopus"). He's been right with everything so far. It might not be pay to download. It would, logically, be associated with Babylon (so I'm not sure what they would do if you don't have it).

They included the more interesting ancient wonders. The other three don't strike me as being exciting enough and crowd an already crowded ancient game.
