World Builder wont load

I just downloaded the tool off steam for world builder (for the first time) but it refuses to load or else take a very very long time. It goes to the Worldbuilder loading screen but no further. Does anyone know how to fix this or another mod/tool/program like this? I have BNW if that makes a difference.

EDIT: I got the beta update and now when I try to open it, it goes straight to "Windows has stopped working"

Yeah I'm getting the same thing in the beta and from what I've heard a lot of other people have too. I guess that's why it's a beta right?
