I made a WOW map for Civ III a few months ago and decided to remake it for CIV. I added a few more islands that were from earlier games: Zandalar, Broken Isles and Kezan. However I didn't mess with the diplomacy levels so everyone starts off neutral with one another.

I've included several Barb settlers, placed in memorable places from the game, along with several Barb animals in each zone, to give the units some exp. sources.

Version: BTS

Civilizations
Humans-Charlemagne
Orcs-Genghis Khan
Night Elves-Saladin
Blood Elves-Kublai Khan
Dwarves-Ragnar
Forsaken-Hatshepsut
Gnomes-Zara Yaqob
Tauren-Sitting Bull
Draenei-Asoka
Trolls-Montezuma
Scourge-Tokugawa

Please send me any feedback and comments! :cool:

As a WoW player, and sort of an expert map wise, I want to congratulate you on your accuracy. I'm downloading it now, and it looks quite promising. Go Horde! -Lean

Edit: However, the cities names are still bsed on the civilization you used for the races (ex: Forsaken: Egypt. Starting City: Theebs)

This map is fantastic! As an avid wow player myself I can't thank you enough! I'm only playing civ now because i'm waiting for wotlk to start and my guild stopped raiding at felmyst :sad:

A couple things:
-There are a billion resorces everywhere and every city I settle (playing as bloodelves, rushed forsaken with keshiks) Is a super city. each city can pull it own weight in production, food and commerce. Commerce because of all the gems gold as silver you leave lying around up north. Production because of all the grass hills.

-There seems to be an oasis on a mountain in Western Plaugelands

-Fallout goes away after a few turns... just incase you didn't know....

-FOR THE HORDE:D

thanks for the compliments! i actually canceled my account due to school and i'm not get wotlk because i just don't enough time in the day to really play and enjoy it.

ironically i really didn't play my map that much. at the time i was a little burned out on video games. i didn't know about the fallout, so thanks for the heads up. as for the super cities, i kind of made it like that due to the restrictions on movement/lack of open and direct paths to the areas. as for the oasis in the mountains, that used to be a desert, but was changed to a mountain and was over looked. :D

~FOR THE HORDE~ :nuke:

well....there are two options.

first: are you knowledgeable with basic map making/editing? if so you could try generating a Vanilla map with the civs you want, then open the world builder save file with notepad. This will allow you to edit the map manually. Once in the file, copy the begin team and begin player info from the Vanilla file and paste to the WOW map file. Then try to open it in Vanilla and enter WB and save as a Vanilla file.

If that doesn't work then I could make a vanilla version from scratch.

also try changing the file extension.

* for Vanilla: Civ4WorldBuilderSave
* for Warlords: CivWarlordsWBSave
* for Beyond the Sword: CivBeyondSwordWBSave

even if you do this method, you will still have to change the CIVS using notepad because some are from BTS.

Have you considered making a Huge version of this map? This one is good, don't get me wrong, but a Huge one would allow so much more detail, like the Huge Earth map.

Still.. downloading this one now ;) Good work on it!
