Is it possible to fix this? I'm really sick of "you have traded with worst enemies" when the civ that's upset about it didn't effing know me. Surely the game could handle making the mechanic work properly? WFYABTA doesn't accrue before they meet you. They don't decide to go to war with you before meeting you. So why have it cheat to detect trades?

This doesn't fall under usual difficulty handicaps, it's a hidden glitch that affects all difficulties. Also, it seems to suffer from the same max modifier as you get when you get +4 for fair trade by gifting 20 gold...so it has a much higher impact than trades with worst enemies of civ's you actually know........!

This absolutely can't be intended.

It is possible and Dresden had a fix ready for the next version of the unofficial patch .... but unfortunately Dresden is on sabatical leave of CFC, I guess :( .....

I think that the "can give cities to oponents across a ocean and that we are ages away of contacting" a far bigger glitch, if you ask me :p

Hmm you're right. I also saw an interesting screen shot recently of somebody trading a tech for a resource and GPT. Pretty dubious....

Is that the "The people of [City Name] have rightfully asked to join [Opponent Civ six or eight ocean tiles away]" bit? That one doesn't make much sense to me either.
The "You have traded with our worst enemies" (When you haven't even made contact with us) business always moves that particular civ to the top of the "Needs to have a couple of cities razed" list.
