Student Puts Repellent on Teacher's Cookie
SAMMAMISH, Wash. - A sixth grader sprayed nonpoisonous dog repellent on a cookie intended for her teacher and has been expelled, officials say.

The situation developed when the pupil brought some store-bought chocolate chip cookies to school Monday for a party at Elizabeth Blackwell Elementary School in this suburb east of Seattle, Lake Washington School District spokesman Peter Daniels said.

She handed one cookie to her teacher, who took a bite. About half a dozen other students bit into cookies that apparently had been hit with overspray and — like the teacher — coughed at the bitter taste and strong odor and spat out the crumbs, Daniels said Wednesday.

No injuries or illnesses were reported.

Principal Jeff DeGallier said the girl told him what she had done. DeGallier retrieved the canister from the girl's home, and investigators determined the spray was organic and nontoxic, Daniels said.

The girl's motive was unclear, he added. She had no record of disciplinary problems in school and may appeal to have her expulsion reversed.

If any student of mine even thought of that, I'd cane the little bastard to death.

expulsion, but not year round expulsion, would be what I'd do

we used to place sharp objects on our teachers chairs when i was little.... But I guess pranks like that are now considered terrorism

No, it's evidence of little brat children who have not been taught to respect their elders and have respect for other people in general.

i bet she was trying to check if any one in her class (including the teacher) was "a DOG". hence the dog repelent spray.

EDIT: maybe she saw a werewolf movie and wanted to make sure there werent any in her class.

My point is made more valid. My son is 5. He would not consider such a dastardly deed.

my point being: if you son never ever tries to buck authorities even at that age (may I tell you that nobody ever sat on them? teachers aren# dumb, and we knew that) even at the age of 5, well, he'll be a nice conformal little ant all his life........

exception possible if he is extremely smart AND strong, thus can prevent all his school buddies from doing these things.

I agree with CarlosMM. There are way too many sheep out there doing exactly what they're told, sitting quietly with their heads down in their cubes. Good for a kid if he shows a willingness to upset the apple cart, even if I might recommend against his particular medium.

Oh, you two get off your high horses. There's a difference between trying to get away with stuff, always pushing to see what is allowed/not allowed (which all kids do) and outright maliscious acts.

How old are you two? And do you have children? Or, are you guys merely trying to slam someone else so that you feel better about yourselves? Give me a break.

There's a big difference between children who try to get away with staying awake when they're supposed to be sleeping, taking the cookie behind mamma's back, and refusing to eat the peas and those who malisciously plan little acts of sabotage with the intent to harm. Most children need to learn when and if certain things are funny and how far to carry them. These things should be learned at an early age.

I have seen little devil personalities. These aren't the A type personalities who are one day going to be some company exec. These are the ones who are going to have a rap sheet by the time they're in their teens. There's aggressive, go get 'em personalities and maliscious "golem trying to obtain 'prescious'" personalities.

To most of us, the difference is easily distinguished. One is praised and nurtured, the other is nipped in the bud else the attitude fosters into a troubled teen who has no regard for authority, morality, or the safety and respect for others.

I have a two-month old, and as I said, that particular expression of contempt for authority would not be what I would recommend, but I certainly hope my son does not unquestioningly accept the world as it is presented to him.

That's not what I was suggesting. Re-read my modified post.

There's no difference at all between the personalities that lead to company exec and rap sheet. The difference is in spin. Future company execs get the 'he's just an excitable boy' treatment by their privileged parents and their sycophants. Future 'rap sheet' owners grow up without the silver spoon, and quickly find that the punishments for bucking the system outrageously outscale their offenses. In fact, the CEO-types organize the sheep to explicitly prevent the rap sheet-types from becoming much competition. We love to glorify the rags-to-riches stories in this country, but the overwhelming number of powerful people come from powerful backgrounds.

I can't believe some people are praising this kid...

Would you give me a medal if I urinated in your coffee pot?

If I were the Man and you were the trodden-upon, I'd see it as initiative. I would of course pin the medal to your Johnson so that you would not be able to express yourself in that way in the future...
