Cant make brigades.
Militia Divisions are back.
Swordfish can now be produced and has a higher bomb attack.
Mexico and Brazil are now part of the allies.
Unpoised Japan in French Indo China. [I want to simulate what they could have done in 1940.]
Cut trade to New Caledonia, Tokyo, Padang,Buenos Aires, & Batavia
Added Rubber in Japan.
Sub Hunter renamed Destroyer Escort.
Added Vichy.
Cut Persian roads down.
Added River around Gibraltar to up defense.
 
Have noticed when i first played the game, that the "Vickers Wellington" units folder was missing, rectified that myself, also noticed during playing as GB that italy takes all its bombers to east africa and bombs the hell out the cities over there.

Also the no rase cities patch, what do you do with it?
 
Oops I did not include the folder for the wellington.
I will make an update later today.

The no city raze patch modifies the EXE file so the AI will never raze cities.
I have used it for a few months and the AI never razed a city after I installed it.

USN and Soviet Navy I can assist in finding; I have detailed files. Also for any other order of battle or naval purposes.

I agree with brigade preplacement and autoproduction. I do not concur with the insertion of 'Militia Divisions', which are something only really found in a few countries...it could be rebadged as Home Guard, which is an appropriate title.

Having Brigades, Divisions, Fortress Brigades (combine with Garrisons, and appropriately label) and Home Guard defence forces is a nice combination.

The IJA and IJN were only just capable of what they pulled off in 1941 in terms of getting the men and material to where they needed to go. The reason I am in favour of bending reality somewhat is that they have Buckley's chance of performing a successful amphibious campaign, let alone hitting the areas they need to.

The use of a Japanese trigger may be a thought.

Now that the more modern option of the no raze patch is being used, a very large amount of building slots are opened up. These can be exploited.

I'd leave fiddling with the graphics, terrain and so forth until the major gameplay issues have been decided upon and tweaked. A firm verdict on either May or June may also be in order - a lot of what has been presently worked on can be transposed.

On the other hand, it looks very nice and promising.

The current battlecruiser graphics are rather slow in some animation movements; I tend to replace the RN and MN battlecruisers with an appropriate generic graphic simply from a point of view of not getting a headache.

I've been looking over the version from last weekend - 1.9, I believe, and making a few notes.

Following navies can be fixed:
RN - Orbat, naming conventions, placements
RM - Orbat, placements
MN - Orbat, placements
IJN - Orbat, naming conventions, placements
USN - Orbat, naming conventions, placements
KM - I'd put more off Norway, more U-Boats in the Atlantic, possibly include some auxillary raiders, consolidate in Baltic ports...the U-Boat stats can be upped, but there is the risk of kamikaze attacks on the line of British mines - I've seen the KM destroy itself doing that.
Most of all, they need targets.
The South American Navies can be named and consolidated, rather than deployed out to sea as if for a review.

The RIN sloops can be consolidated under the DE label.

WW1 Destroyers are a matter of interest; they could be named Modernized WW1 Destroyers, as they were so in many cases.

The stats can be crunched, and an equitable disposition worked out. Currently, they are verging on the border of ridiculous - examine the battleships.

I've mainly concentrated on Britain thus far, and there are a few units I've added:

Queen Elizabeth BBs, Revenge BBs, Renown BCs, Nelson BBs, Hood BC
Kongo BB

I've managed to slip a few more cities into Britain.

More to follow at the appropriate juncture in the fullness of time.

Interesting ideas.
An interesting idea I just had was to make the commandos invisible and give them the airdrop ability so they are used primarily for sabotage.
Though I highly doubt that the AI will grasp this concept.
 
I had gotten myself set up to download this mod to my WW2 Global game. However I have learned that I can not download # 4 and #5 units files. Because of where they are located. I do not have a membership at that site. So....here I am, dressed for a party and have no where to go, Is there another way for me to obtain the # 4 and #5 units files?

You do not need membership to DL from that site.

Click "request download link" in the upper left corner.

Im not being thick, but why put the patch in the units folder, then what do you do?:confused:
 
First extract the files, then put them in the units folder.

Are you referring to the 5th units file patch or the no city raze patch?

If you are referring to the no raze patch then you first make a backup of the exe.
Then you extract patch.zip then take patch.exe and put it in the directory where the exe file is for your game. Then you click on patch.exe then you will see a screen, then click patch.

Disclaimer.
The no raze patch works with civ complete, but if you installed conquests over vanilla civ 3 the patch does not work. If you install a "no CD patch" then the no raze patch works with conquests installed over vanilla civ 3.
Since the legality of a "no CD patch" is in question I will not encourage or give instruction of how to locate a "no CD patch".
I take no responsibility if you download a "no CD patch" and you get a virus or something.
 
I'm having problems to version 2, have made a few alterations and added a couple of units, now it wont run and crashes all the time,

any thoughts as to why?:(

I think I will come out with the next version in sometime in mid to late July.
I have started the process of a total naval overhaul.
I am reworking the stats for all ships and adding new ones after that I will do a RN ORBAT overhaul.

You would be surprised the AI seems to like invisible units.

I see that I made a typo when responding to to you a few posts ago.
You put in the units folder.
I meant to say.
You put it in the units folder.
The way it was written it could come across as sarcastic.
I did not mean it in any insulting or sarcastic way.

As for your problem, when adding units you must get everything right or it will not work. It might be easiest if you start over and reinstall Fall Gelb.
But if you want be to try fix it this should be of help to you.

thanks for the reply, i hadnt noticed the typo, so no i didnt think u were being sarcastic.

I know how to add units have been doing it scenario's for years, it just seems to be version 2, any alterations ive made are fine, it only seems to be when adding units, version 1.9 was fine

2.What exact error message are you getting?
 
Yeah ive downloaded all files etc, there is no error msg, as it crashes to desktop whilst loading the scenario.

It plays ok, with my mods untill i add any new units, then it starts crashing:mad:

But i am really enjoying playing this scenario:D
